why do i bother watching this shit?

gblowfish 06-05-2014 07:32 PM

Moose and Hosmer continue to just kill this team. They're basically 8 to 10 outs out of 27 in every game.

blake1771 06-05-2014 07:32 PM

such a frustrating team at the plate

Three7s 06-05-2014 07:33 PM

Stopped watching at 2-0 Cards. Glad to see I made the right decision.

lewdog 06-05-2014 07:33 PM

Swinging at the first pitch is a great trend that doesn't seem to be working.

I just booed these guys off the field. That was a disgusting display of offensive execution.

ILChief 06-05-2014 07:34 PM

Moustakis is worse than a Kendrick Lewis/Matt Cassel/Barry Manilow hybrid

To be fair, Wacha is the real deal. He will allow a hit or two and then shut it down.

When a guy pounds the strike zone with hittable fastballs early in the count, eventually you have to adjust and start swinging at some of them.

I have no problem with Moustakas taking a rip at that fastball. It was a good pitch to hit and he hit it hard. Better he takes a good hack at a pitch in the strike zone on the first pitch than get to two strikes and take a weak swing at a put-away pitch.

Mother****erJones 06-05-2014 07:38 PM

So much for that bad Ventura outing. Lol

C3HIEF3S 06-05-2014 07:39 PM

6 IP 2 ER for Ventura

Such a bad outing for him tonight LMAO

And he's on the hook for the loss.

Did Monte Harrison get picked yet?

Makes sense with a good pitcher but this just seems to be a consistent trend EVERY game, not situational IMO.

While I don't have the stats it seems we are swinging at way more first pitches than last year and we are clearly a worse offense with this swing early approach.

ILChief 06-05-2014 07:40 PM

But at least they drafted a pitcher

He has not. He's the second best-player on the board according to Baseball America.

I stopped at 1-0. It's becoming way too easy to just turn it off early in the game for me. I've gotten to the point where I refuse to waste 3 hours of my life on something that isn't entertaining me if I don't have to. I'll occasionally check the score to see if it's worth turning back on, but I'm not going to sit through 3 hours of frustration.

So much this

duncan_idaho 06-05-2014 07:44 PM

I'm going to guess the Royals take SS Jacob Gatewood with their next pick.

HS kid from California. Has the loudest tools and biggest power potential in the draft. Needs to refine his hit tool.

Sound familiar? (pretend he is from Gardner, KS...)

Discuss Thrower 06-05-2014 07:44 PM

So that's what the Royals' offense is supposed to look like? Put a man on 1st or 2nd, then have the guy behind him get a double to either score or put the first man at 3rd with no outs?

Coach 06-05-2014 07:46 PM

That'll work Omar. Productive out.

WhawhaWhat 06-05-2014 07:46 PM

Can Hosmer figure out how to hit a fly ball and score Aoki?

petegz28 06-05-2014 07:46 PM

Okay, Hosmer.....nice and easy..and swing at strikes...everything is not a strike

C3HIEF3S 06-05-2014 07:47 PM

Time for Hosmer to hit one into the fountains !!!!!!!!!!

GloryDayz 06-05-2014 07:47 PM

Ventura off the hook for the L, so that's good.
