A little long ball then a little small ball

petegz28 04-22-2014 06:27 PM

Ump owes Aoki a few calls here

chiefsfan987 04-22-2014 06:27 PM

That was a thing of beauty there. Nice work Dyson.

mr. tegu 04-22-2014 06:28 PM

Moose has been having pretty good plate appearances all season. It's nice to see it starting to pay off.

I never had a problem with his approach this year, just his weak contact. He has been coming around here lately though.

SPchief 04-22-2014 06:29 PM

I thought Aoki doesn't strike out?

MrGiggity 04-22-2014 06:29 PM

Not a fan of Aoki

Captain Obvious 04-22-2014 06:30 PM

For a guy who "doesn't strikeout", Aoki sure strikes out a lot.

For Moose, it was a pretty big change and improvement to go up there looking much better, even if the hits weren't coming. Then his contact started getting better and now they are finding more holes and going deeper. It's actually pretty similar to Hosmer's turnaround last season. Though he still has a ways to go.

And too bad Billy can't return to 2012 like Esky has done.

He's always had a patient approach and plus power. Making contact has and always will be his bugaboo

Billy's problem is Billy thinks Billy is better than Billy really is

Beautiful contact on that one Hos

C3HIEF3S 04-22-2014 06:43 PM

This is what we need out of Moose and Hos.

mr. tegu 04-22-2014 06:45 PM

Horrible hitting luck but its fun watching them crush the ball!

SPchief 04-22-2014 06:45 PM

Damn. BOTH just missed the deepest part of the park

C3HIEF3S 04-22-2014 06:45 PM

Billy!!

petegz28 04-22-2014 06:45 PM

Wow, both guys just missed HR's...hit them to the wrong part of the park

way to go Billy!

I've decided to take a vacation from Rex and watch the away telecasts. Also nice to get some outside perspective and they actually are complimentary of the Royals. ..

Billy hasn't swung like that all season. Nice to see him not try to spray it to right field.

Remember when Hosmer couldn't buy a hit even though he was swinging well. Everything looked like the ball was a giant magnet and went directly to wherever their guys were positioned. Moose just taking a bit longer, but seems to have greater ability to punish the ball and go yard.

blake1771 04-22-2014 06:50 PM

this reliever threw four straight balls, although Gordon swung at one of them. they need to work the count on this guy

You mean the SS or 2B, right?

SPchief 04-22-2014 06:51 PM

Again, Salvy needs a day off. I know they're waiting for thursday, and it can't come soon enough

petegz28 04-22-2014 06:51 PM

Salvy swings at the 1st pitch after Gordon got walked on 5 pitches

Haha. Key word was "trying" which results in those weak ground balls.

petegz28 04-22-2014 07:03 PM

petegz28 04-22-2014 07:08 PM

blake1771 04-22-2014 07:09 PM

Esky on FIRE!

lol Hud: "Moose that 420 foot 3 bomb was nice, but Dyson your bunt was perfect!"

mr. tegu 04-22-2014 07:10 PM

I know Aoki isn't doing great right now, but I am really glad we have a true leadoff hitter so that Yost isn't tempted to put Esky at the top of the lineup.

Our attendance isn't particularly great, but there isn't a word that exists that can properly describe the Indians attendance.

Demonpenz 04-22-2014 07:58 PM

remember when Jacobs field sold out a shitload of the time. This is a team that made the playoffs last year wtf.

Great Expectations 04-22-2014 08:00 PM

They made a movie about the Indians and their attendance.

C3HIEF3S 04-22-2014 08:00 PM

Looking at espn.com. Cleveland was 4th in all of baseball in average attendance in 2001, then the years after that they just dropped and dropped further down the list.

And by comparison they've not had a string of shitty years.

You trade their success over that time and I would bet KC would finish no lower than 10th in attendance.

I think one thing that kind of hurts The K is the walking area behind the scoreboard in center. When we draw 25k or so people, the upper deck still looks like it's 1/4th full.
I bet fans who get tickets up there walk down and watch the game by the fountains.

Can you walk down there if you get tickets in the upper level?

SPchief 04-22-2014 08:09 PM

I'm liking that they're pitching Duffy 2+ innings each time he's out. Keeps him stretched out.

Demonpenz 04-22-2014 08:10 PM

yeah you can walk anywhere if you have 400 level tickets. If you don't press your luck you can sit in 200's with upper tank tickets. Anything in the 100 level gets checked hard right now all 9 innings though.

TLO 04-22-2014 08:12 PM

Still 6-2?

Yeah that's what I was thinking.
I went to my first two games at The K last season and I sat in the 100 both games. These 3 college kids tried to sneak their way into the section, didn't work out for them.

C3HIEF3S 04-22-2014 08:14 PM

Yes. I always get upper deck tickets and then find somewhere to be in the outfield. Either stand in the Pepsi porch area or sit by the fountains.
