Watching the redzone channel and the picture quality is AMAZING but I don't think my internet is fast enough to deal with it because it is pretty damn choppy. I have 7 download and 1.5 upload so it should work... Anybody know how to get a lower resolution picture on PS3?

This is why you buy game consoles for gaming, not for watching TV. Maybe at some point in the future stuff like this will be more viable and affordable.

lcarus 09-11-2011 10:22 AM

I haven't lived with my parents for a long time, but sometimes I'd like to! You can't tell me sometimes you don't wish you were 8 years old again with no worries in the world except sports and cartoons.

I wouldn't think that 7 down, 1.5 up would cause any issues. Theoretically, it's supposed to be auto-correcting. Has it gotten any better as you've left it on?

Huh. I turned it off after five minutes guess I'll leave it on for the next 30 minutes and see if that helps.

Well, good luck. I really don't know that much about how it works, but that's how the web interface worked.

If nothing else, you'd think they'd have a way built in to manually override it.

Consoles systems are basically PC's now Grandpa. Ive got an Atari 2600 ill sell ya.

Quesadilla Joe 09-11-2011 10:56 AM

Maybe they were just having a problem with the Redzone Channel because I just turned on the Chiefs game and have had no issues so far. It honestly looks just like it would if I was watching it on my local CBS affiliate.

Deberg_1990 09-11-2011 11:27 AM

mines jumping around quite a bit...not satisfied so far.....

dannybcaitlyn 09-11-2011 11:30 AM

Same here. Missing some plays even when I rewind. Completely missed the punt play.

ChiefsFanatic37 09-11-2011 11:33 AM

Wow, this is sucking so far. So choppy and my internet should be able to handle it...they need to work out the bugs.

Mine keeps jumping all around, like back and forth in time.......horrible, unacceptable....i will definately call and complain. I have a 6M download. It shouldnt be this bad.

Toadkiller 09-11-2011 11:55 AM

Damn the ps3 feed is craptacular. really unsatisfied with it.

ChiefsFanatic37 09-11-2011 11:59 AM

yeah i have 9 down 1.5 up and this should be perfect. I'm steamin online and it is working great.

Jack 09-11-2011 12:01 PM

Great disappointment! Got increasing worse, heavy buffering, skipped plays (except for commercials).

This is too much, I wonder if there is some grand telephone number to call and bitch about this.

Toadkiller 09-11-2011 12:02 PM

I have 14.9 down and 2.5 up and it pauses like crazy. Long pauses. I think all of direct tv sunday go is having a problem though. Trying to log on through computer and it is taking forever to load.

dannybcaitlyn 09-11-2011 12:02 PM

****! I have 7 and 1.5 and I've lost video. I want a refund for this game. What's the number to make a complaint?

Jack 09-11-2011 12:10 PM

This isn't as much a BW problem as it is with Sony/Sunday ticket. I use Roku, Visio streaming and PS3. All HD quality and I have had no significant problems. I will be hunting down those responsible.

Yep...ive used netflix, Vudu and the MLB streaming through the PS3 and have never had any issues.....this is a Sunday Ticket issue.

dannybcaitlyn 09-11-2011 12:22 PM

Finally got video back but still pausing. They should have at least did some type of testing with maybe some preason games.

Quesadilla Joe 09-11-2011 12:40 PM

This is bullshit... The pregame and the Bills first drive was PERFECT but after that the stream was unwatchable , now I can't even get it to load

Same...this is ridiculous

aturnis 09-11-2011 12:46 PM

Tried this as DirecTV can't be here to hook me up until Tuesday. I am pissed. PS3 streaming is TERRIBLE. I have 12MB, should not be a probelm. Same as DeBerg, jumping back and forth in time, and choppy as ****.

Chiefs Pantalones 09-11-2011 12:46 PM

I have 10M so mine should be fine next week. I didn't have to use it today.

Doesnt seem to be a bandwidth issue. Guys with all sorts of varying speeds are reporting the same problems.

Oh snap! Is it a NFLST issue or a PS3 issue? 12MB should be more than enough!

Quesadilla Joe 09-11-2011 12:53 PM

There for a while it would let me watch it with 4:58 left in the second quarter and then it would freeze and next thing I know I'm watching the ****ing first quarter again. Can never get a steady stream, it only plays for 15 seconds at a time then it freezes and takes me to some random ass part of the game. Such bullshit.

Toadkiller 09-11-2011 12:54 PM

14.9 down and it sucks rocks. I think all of direct tv is having a problem. Tried on the go app for direct tv and it is up and down as well.

Jack 09-11-2011 01:14 PM

Well, this isn't sporadic around the country, look here:

http://www.lasnark.com/2011/09/11/nf...snt-work/10710

You would think by now, the PS3 folks would be working on this.

Consolation: Chiefs are really stinking up the place with their dismay coaching and players. But looking at the man-less colts make feel slightly better.

Jack 09-11-2011 01:18 PM

Yep, its fully DTV's fault from searches around the 'net.

Hello *****,

I understand how frustrating this must be and I apologize for the inconvenience. Please know that both DirectTv and Sony have technicians actively working to improve the quality of the feed to give you the best service possible.

I understand this is extremely frustrating, especially on opening day. We are working as quickly as we can to get this issue resolved.

Thanks for your patience.

This is all 100% on DTV. The PS3 feed was awful, but I have the ability to stream it through my laptop or my phone as well and 1) couldn't even get logged in on the DTV website to stream on my laptop and 2) the quality on my phone was unwatchable, even on a 4" screen.

This same thing happened last year, and perhaps it's worse this year. Most everybody missed at least the first half of the noon games last year, seems people missed the entire noon games this year.

For what DTV is charging for the service, if they don't offer partial refunds for this week, you would have to think they are walking right into a class action lawsuit. It is false advertising at its finest, in that 1) you couldn't even watch the games and 2) even if you could, the picture quality is a billion times worse than the HD picture that was advertised.

Swanman 09-11-2011 03:08 PM

I did read somewhere on the DTV forums that someone heard from a rep that refunds would be offered for week 1 but then there were other reports saying there wouldn't be refunds based on feedback from another rep. As usual, the DTV idiots can't even all have the same story.

Nice. I'm watching it right now the SD game with only 1.5mb (I'm getting 10m this Wednesday) and it's ok not buffering at all. So they must've did something to it...

Just checked and it's working perfectly for me right now too. Hope it works like it is right now next week

dannybcaitlyn 09-11-2011 05:25 PM

I believe so. I am screwed because I purchased from Directv to use on my PS3 because I wanted the ability to also stream on my laptop and phone when I wasn't home. Directv is giving some BS line about not being able to issue refunds because we "don't have accounts with Directv" if we only have the online sunday ticket. If they stick by that line of thinking, I hope there is a lawsuit started. You can't take money for services not rendered and use as an excuse that your system isn't able to offer partial refunds.

No, I don't have DTV but bought the Sunday Ticket To Go (for use on PS3, laptop and phone) from DTV, not from Sony. So even though I purchased from them, I am not considered to "have an account" with them since I don't subscribe to their tv service.

Through Directv it was $350. I felt that was reasonable given it was only $10 more than the PS3-only version and allows me to stream through my laptop or phone if I need to.

Quesadilla Joe 09-14-2011 08:08 AM

Check your messages on your master account and you should have a message from PSN with a link to click to get your $24.99, I just redeemed mine and got the money added to my wallet.

Awesome. Hopefully last week was just an anomaly. As others have mentioned, I have no clue why they wouldn't at least run an active test feed full time the week before the games so that people could try it out and report any issues.

Deberg_1990 09-19-2011 06:47 AM

This ended up working flawlessly for me yesterday. Every game looked perfect and i had no lag.

Anybody get an error message when trying to start the Sunday Ticket App today? It's telling me they are experiencing technical difficulties and to try again later.

EDIT: Got it to work, hope it doesn't mess up later.

cdcox 10-09-2011 11:01 AM

I'm thinking of going this route next year. Obviously there were major problems in week 1, but I'll be interested in hearing how it works for everyone the rest of the year.

dannybcaitlyn 10-09-2011 11:01 AM

Some reason mine said it was expired. I did the 84.99 for 4 months. So now in order for me to get it its considering me a new customer and wanting to charge me 113.00 for the next three months.

RaiderH8r 10-09-2011 11:08 AM

mine is phubar. The hell is this crap? Where do I send the flaming bag of dog shit? One f'ing day a week. ONE. That this thing has to work and DTV/PS3 continues to piss down their legs. Bull. Shit. Pig. F'ers.

Toadkiller 10-09-2011 11:21 AM

Yep error for me as well. Also tried watching it through the computer and get an error there. You would think they would have this shit down by now.

After 10 weeks of continuously stuttering and dropping of games on PS3 NFL Sunday Ticket, I am cancelling this abomination. I am fairly certain the problem is solely from the network dimwits on the NFL Sunday ticket side. I have experienced no problems with other PS3 streaming capabilities.

Has anyone had any success with this endeavor?

(The Che-ifs annual letdown for their fans also has something to do with dropping it.)

Hardly. I have three cascaded routers in my home system running the on fastest network available.

Routinely I can stream video to 4 computers, my android phone and PS3 simultaneously with hardly any buffering.

Two weeks ago, I was on the phone with PSN during the Miami game. They were having the same freeze/stuttering problem.

NFLST will drop to 480, back to 720 then buffer and freeze. Audio sometimes will remain.

I had DTV about 7 years back. Really liked it. Comcast had a better deal with higher speeds and good triple package.

Earlier this season I had contemplated getting DTV again since NFLST was free. Then PSN announced it so I went that route.

It is apparent that some have had success with it, but the majority of the folks have the same issues as do I. I looked around the 'Net today and decided it was time to cut my losses. I may look at DTV again next year.

Don't know why I bother since the Chiefs have had 4+ decades of mediocrity. But I have been a fan since they moved from Dallas. Too old to quit now.
