You couldn't sell me on Childress to be the HC, but reuniting him with Reid as the OC is something that makes a ton of sense for both.
What I like about the Reid hire is that his coaching tree has deep roots. He knows what he's getting when selecting his staff. Todd Haley's coaching tree only contained a trunk. That's why I don't like hiring the hot coordinators. And by the way, I'm going to laugh at the team that hires the Bronco's OC. That dude didn't get a sniff when Orton and Tebow were under center, but now with Manning he's a Fu@king genius. Yeah right. |

He's going to be a good HC. |
So...without going through this whole thread, is it just someone's opinion?

Chilly is a very good OC but yes is NOT a good HC. Reid's best years were when Chilly was running his offense.

Pro Football Weekly @ProFootballWkly MT @AdamSchefter: Browns OC Brad Childress is in KC today, could be hired as either OC or as an advisor to new Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. |

I might have been a little late to the scrap it all and start over movement, but I was not defending Pioli in the second half of the season. I posted my mea culpa on the Pioli sucks thread. |
Adam Teicher @adamteicher
I can confirm Brad Childress visit to #Chiefs. But I'm told he will not be the offensive coordinator. Possibly another assistant's job. Adam Teicher @adamteicher Also doesn't look like Pat Shurmur, a former Reid assistant with Eagles, will be coming to #Chiefs as offensive coordinator. |

Teicher sucks.
Have you seen his V-logs that he does on the Star's website? Its like the producer of the Al Jazeera beheading videos decided to take 3000 Polaroids of Adam and flip them in sequence with a soundtrack. |
Forgive my ignorance, I dont know much about the guy...what makes everyone think he'll be a good GM?
|
Looks like Matt Nagy as QB coach, Pederson as OC, and Childress as senior offensive assistant.

SaveOurChiefs @SaveOurChiefs
Looks like, according to reports, that Chilly will be an offensive figurehead not an OC. Signs are pointing to Doug Pederson as OC. |
Reuben Frank @RoobCSN
I reported that last week @Jrd224 You heard it hear first. Matt Nagy named KC QB coach. |

Philadelphia Eagles Nagy was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles on August 10, 2009 after an injury to backup quarterback Kevin Kolb. Nagy had been working for the Eagles as a coaching intern prior to his signing. The NFL disapproved his contract the following day. Philadelphia disclosed at a press conference that they would not pursue a re-signing of Nagy, but that he would continue to be a coaching intern for the team. He was promoted to coaches assistant on February 9, 2010.[2] He was promoted to offensive quality control coach on March 2, 2011. |
People in Philly seem to love Nagy.
|
Pederson's never been an OC.
Don't like that hire. He has ZERO experience in that role. He's never coordinated an offense ANYWHERE. He's only been coaching for three years. The OC hiring is HUGE. Can't believe he's even being considered for this role. |

LaCanfora tweeted that Childress will end up in KC on the staff but not as an OC or position coach. My take is as Reid's Assistant HC/Advisor. Similar to Morningweg on the Eagles.
|
Maybe Childress can be in charge of time management during the game... Didn't we have Dick Curl for that with Vermiel?

Some just aren't happy with anything.
This is a great deal. Chilly is a great offensive mind. |

I'm totally happy with the offense hirings so far.

I loved the Reid hiring, but let's not pretend there's not still work left to do. There's a big difference between me disliking Pederson/Childress and being an insufferable fan who's never pleased. |
