Nah man that's Ron Powlus.....but a ton of recruiting sites pretty much said Leak was the best recruit of all time. Wake Forest had an open scholarship to him from the time he was 14 on. A bunch of schools recruited his brother C.J. and would become enamored with Chris at 14.....safe to say he never lived up to the bill.

Florida just caught a huge break but....after seeing this and most of thier games, Florida is one cluster**** of a team. They're lucky they haven't lost 3-4 games.

This team would get destroyed by any of the other top 5 teams they just aren't good or disciplined at all.

It's the story of Florida's season......they've gotten tremendously lucky all year. With the things they do in every game they're lucky they haven't lost 3-4 games.

Bearcat 12-02-2006 07:47 PM

This is turning into a game no one wants to win... I know Florida has had issues, but I thought they would show up tonight, especially with Arkansas' loss last week.

That's why USC's schedule is ranked 3rd to Florida's 36th right.......don't kid yourself the SEC isn't near as tough as it's hyped to be..and maybe they'd get some more respect if they'd actually schedule some good non con teams like you know USC does....

This is a wacky game; frankly I just assumed Florida would get rolled by Arkansas, even though Arkansas had been cooling off lately. Man, sometimes I hate living here in Orlando, no college team (no UCF doesn't count) I totally don't like the Magic, and we have no football either. This city, it's full of Gator frat brats, and "Da U" fans. I fI ever move anywhere again, it's to KC - I can't take it anymore.

Gary Danielson is an idiot, total nut ball

Chiefs Pantalones 12-02-2006 08:32 PM

For the first time in a while, USC got it wrong with their QB. Booty is not a big timer. You can just see it in his eyes and in his body language; he has backup QB written all over him. He just doesn't have "it" like Palmer and Leinart did.

Well we got Mark Sanchez waiting in the wings......and a 4 start commit this year so...we got some QB's coming.

Booty is like alot of QB's if he has time to set up and throw he looks great, under pressure he's crap.

Understandable. But then why would the FLA coaches won't make the change, considering how badly Leak played?

Probably because teams don't think they'll win with a true freshman QB.

Yeah Kentucky was a quality win, wasn't it. I hate that guy, did you just here that?

He flat out said, "Florida is the SEC Champion, let's face it - Michigan is a second place team"

Now, even though I didn't finish my Journalism degree, isn't it a poor choice to flat out support a specific team when you are an announcer?

Bearcat 12-02-2006 08:41 PM

They need to score again.

His pro-SEC talk is starting to bug me... All these top teams deserve a chance, and I hope Florida is the one that makes it, but I'm not that much of a homer.

tk13 12-02-2006 08:41 PM

I thought JD Booty looked pretty good this year didn't he? Then again I didn't see USC but a few times on TV.

Mecca 12-02-2006 08:42 PM

For general college QB standards he has a very good year, if you are comparing him to the likes of Leinart and Palmer, he wasn't that good. I believe he finished with 25 TD's and 9 Int's.......he got pressure today and didn't look good.

When the line protects him he looks very good.

tk13 12-02-2006 08:44 PM

I do think the SEC is the deepest conference in terms of having the most quality teams. Does that mean the top teams are quite as good as the top teams in a couple of these other conferences? I don't know, I guess we'll find out.

Mecca 12-02-2006 08:45 PM

All I know is I've seen Florida play numerous times and I don't think they are as good as about 8-9 other teams.....they only have 1 loss but that is an ugly team that makes a ton of mistakes and benefitted from the SEC being a bit down this year.

chagrin 12-02-2006 08:45 PM

So Urban Meyer coaches Utah to a good record, then comes to Florida and in 2 years he does a pretty good job of keeping the momentum, and he now thinks he has some sort of clout to tell the NCAA what should happen?

fuck YOU FLORIDA and fuck YOU GARY DANIELSON

That's what CBS wants him to do they have the SEC Tv contract, if more people really believe the SEC shit it means more for their ratings.

Valid point. There are two sides of the arguement in my own view.

With the true freshman in there instead of Leak, the potentional is greater for the future, IMHO.

But then, despite how horrible Leak plays, FLA most possibly could be going to a NC game. And it does take a team effort to get to the NC.

One thing I'm more than certain that Leak won't cut it in the NFL, IMHO.

It's telling, IMO, that it's been extremely difficult for any team in the SEC to run the table, no matter how loaded they were.

They also have by far the most guys who make the next level.

Because ESPN has been lobbying voters for USC and/or Michigan/OSU rematch for the past 4-5 weeks. Herbstreit, Mark May, Doug Flutie (on ABC), etc.

The facts:

1. Florida has played the toughest schedule in the country. Their opponent win percentage is higher than any other teams in college football.

2. Florida has scored more TDs per game than Michigan.

3. Florida averaged more offensive yards per game than Michigan.

4. Florida allowed less points per game than Michigan.

5. Florida accomplished #2-#4 while playing the toughest schedule in the country.

6. Florida won their conference championship.

7. Florida has defeated 3 ranked teams (highest being #5). Michigan has defeated 2 ranked teams (highest being #7).

If CA is such a shitty state why do so many people live here?

We have much, much more to offer than TX. The reason it is what you call, overpriced, is because people are willing to pay more to live here.

I drove through Yosemite National Park on the way to our Thanksgiving weekend. Nothing in TX compares to that. Not the Hill Country or beautiful Gulf Coast.

Plus, Lake Tahoe, Redwood Forests up north, the beaches all along the state, the Napa wine country, So Cal weather.

What is wrong with that?

There are a lot of liberals out here that I have to deal with but they are not much worse than some of the Texans I dealt with.
