No, Self blew it. Should have gone to a full court press as soon as they went down by 10 at the very minimum. No reason that KU shouldn't press for an entire game.

Every time they do, good things happen, but then they back off. As soon as the game was tied, Self backed off the pressure and they went back up by three. So f'ing stupid.

Texas Tech is a decent team. Losing to them is no big deal. Now had you lost to Missouri, that would have been a different story.

Actually I was here when KU was up 8-0.

All I know is Collins needs to start. I like Robinson and all, but Collins is a better scorer, makes more happen when he has the ball, and is a decent defender. Not to mention he has generally been very clutch. Ya, I know he missed that three, but he made a couple to get it tied.

I think we were talking past each other in the thread. KU was getting cut to death by the motion offense. The full court press wasn't a straight up man. It was a zone trap. And it was effective. But Self didn't play a full court man to man.

Which Full court Man 2 Man would of increased TT's TO's and could of given KU many easy transition baskets...

Look, KU has several guys that a great on ball defenders. However, even the best on ball defenders can be had by a great screening team. Knight's teams have always been great at screening.

I have seen KU using the full court press in the past 4 or 5 games from early on in the game. It has been very effective. Many KU fans have been calling for this since KU has so much talent and depth. I don't understand why Self chose not to do this until late in this game. And when he finally did go to it, KU forced Tech into several turnovers. It has nothing to do with what kind of shots they made on offense.

I completely agree. To run the O through Kaun is just.... weird. I believe they could do to most teams what they did to OSU at home. Self's astrange bird.

But, you did just win 10 straight. So losing a nail biter to a senior laden TTech could be the propellant for another win streak.

No, but I don't have that kind of disposable income. I save most of my money. If I were a millionaire, I wouldn't have to save so much and I'd be able to drop the $300 per seat per game I'd need to attend the KU games.

I sure hope so. But the fact is that KU has had several "unstable" type of games in a row lately, too, even though they won most of them.

Which is why we lost to Bucknell. Bucknell was six guys deep and we let them take their sweet ass time. Then refused to run them into the ground. We were pretty deep that year. Bucknell had absolutely scrubbs on the bench. All we had to do was tire them out and it would of been game over.
