I'll nitpick your string, then. Did the episode ever say that it was easier for Michael to break in to the place (to cover the tracks to as to save Tina)? I didn't hear it. Using Tina is far easier especially from a standpoint of risk, which is why they used her in the first place. Michael did the break-in thing as an apology. It was reckless but driven by emotion; an interesting thing to see if Mr. Weston does with increasing frequency. As for the other string... maybe months down the road the scammers get off on reasonable doubt or something but they probably wouldn't have the information to go back and follow up on the people that Michael and crew saved. You're either letting a professional tic color your viewing of a show that is fairly unbelievable to begin with or you don't realize that the future legal case against the scammers doesn't matter to the show at all.

Actually, the strings that took me out of it were more subtle things, but I didn't reference them because I didn't commit them all to memory. So I went with the break-in because it stood out in my mind, not because it was the crux of my critique. If I had the will to, I guess I could rewatch and tick off the specifics, but it's not worth it.

That said, your last sentence is pure-D horse shit. Ohh, these poor put upon people need Michael Westen's particular skill set to get them out of a dangerous jam with an intricate plot to get the bad guys out of their lives and release them from danger, but it doesn't matter if that intricate plot falls apart tomorrow and the bad guys are back on the street exonerated and pissed as hell that someone tried to bring them down, because Michael Westen has moved on to a new episode.

Neglecting the details that actually delivers them from danger obviates the need for his skill set altogether. Why didn't they just hire some mook to tie the guy up. 'I doubt he'll get out of those ropes for, like, hours. So see ya."

And so we're clear, I love the show and have watched every episode. So this critique was of a good show that let me down a little this once in a vague, corner cutting manner. I'm not saying the show is pure shit or anything, so lets not get all twisted.

This has happened since the show began. Some of the resolutions have been far more ridiculous than the one on the last episode. Even still, the case brought against the scammers may not even need those stolen files to get a proper conviction. Michael says that the father and son were going at it after the son's arrest and "practically handed" the case to the investigators.

Totally agree.

This show is epically good, just because Bruce Campbell is in it.

What did everybody think of yesterday's episode?

I thoroughly enjoyed it.

kcxiv 01-29-2010 10:10 PM

lol. The way they set up their stuff is just amazing. The snapping of the fingers was brilliant. Always good to see Danny Trejo in shows as well even if its just for 1 episode.

Was a really good one. I like the cleverness they use.

SLAG 01-29-2010 11:06 PM

Michael weston is a PIMP!

Usually a show jumps the shark during the episode that the obvious "they need to be together" couple finally sleeps together, but Michael and Fiona getting together was planned out perfectly. Can't wait to see what happens with the super-plot this season!

Buehler445 02-04-2010 10:45 PM

This one was a little weaker, but it is setting up for a bigger one.

It was still a catchy flick, and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I particularly joy Fiona gets when she blows shit up. I'm amazed at how well this show is written. Maybe I don't watch enough TV, but it seems like this show is written better than about anything else out there.

kcxiv 02-05-2010 02:00 AM

It was a solid episode. not epic, but solid. This show has had so many great episodes, its almost impossible to keep the level of bad ass that high. I enjoy his Mcgyver-like things. Using the Microwave as a little bomb. Or using the string and grease to lube up the wall light. Good shit.

I thought yesterday's episode was very very good. It showed the edge.

I say it every week, but I continue to be impressed with the show.

another killer episode. This show des not have bad episodes. Thats a very very rare thing in TV now days. I think Sons of Anarchy and Breaking Bad are the other 2 that are constantly at this level of good tv.

Buehler445 02-13-2010 04:38 PM

I agree. I've liked all of them.

Great episode. I dont know how the hell they keep up this level of kick ass. 3 seasons in and there arent bad episodes. Not 1. some ok episodes but thats it.

Tony from 24 in it was pretty cool. I wonder who Simon is, They kept his face hiding from us. He has to be some well known actor. Cant wait to see who it is.

When the episode was unfolding, I thought, Fiona is in trouble again.... played out, but the episode took a different turn (thankfully).

And the whole Gillroy thing was really really well done.

I'm goddamn addicted to the show.

I need help.

Fukin June? Are u kidding me?
This is the only show I watch.

The funny part is, that I've got my current GF hooked on it.
She hates my ex-GF, and I can't bring myself to tell her that the only reason I started watching it, is because the ex was an extra in 3 episodes of season 2.

SLAG 06-04-2010 01:11 AM

not too bad -

Picked up right where they left off - almost a little too "Ok you're back now.. lets do this job"

but I enjoyed it

kcxiv 06-04-2010 02:34 AM

Just got done with this and Royal Pains, they were both good. Burn Notice always usually starts out a season mediocre to build for what main goal.

Hydrae 06-11-2010 07:32 AM

I liked how Michael turned the newbie into a client to keep tabs on him without letting him know who burned him. This looks to be an interesting addition to the cast and allows them some more latitude in the storyline. It will be interesting to see how they handle the scene where Jesse learns of Michael's role in "ruining" his life.

Baby Lee 06-12-2010 07:44 AM

Isn't that what we learned in kindergarten?

ChiefsFan4Life 06-14-2010 06:29 AM

Great show

Lzen 06-14-2010 10:55 AM

Interesting that their 3 some is now a 4 some. I hope this doesn't make the show jump the shark like the Brady Bunch when they introduced Cousin Oliver.

its only going to be a few episode arc imo. Something will happen and he's going to try to take out the man who had him burned (Weston). He's not turning into the guy he was trying to seek out in the first season. Remember the guy that got shot on the top of that building when MIke was trying to find the guy that burned him. WEll, like i said, he's now that guy.

I do not like Jesse as a permanent addition. Oh, he is a handsome and cool guy and has screen presence, but bringing in an equal of the main guy is the fastest ticket over the shark. Years ago Remington Steele did that and went downhill fast.

He'll be gone before the season is out. They will wrap up his story line, and set a plot for the following season with about 3 episodes remaining in the current season.

Frankie 06-21-2010 05:26 PM

I love this show. That said, I still have problems with them operating with heavy weapons in the middle of the they and never being spotted by some bystander.

Dude, it's Remington Steele. I mean, come on. Really? Really? Now if you're actually a woman named "Frankie", then I take it all back and understand completely.

Yeah, love the show but there are some things I just have to pretend not to notice so it doesn't bother me. If you were tailing someone you probably wouldn't pick a brand new car that is blue and stands out like crazy either.

That's (the blue fancy car) exactly the comment I made to my wife as we were watching it. I love this show because it's pretty smart. But the two things you and I have mentioned are accepted only in shows like The A-Team and such.

kcxiv 07-03-2010 06:40 PM

I've seen the first one. I'm going to catch up now.

Hydrae 07-04-2010 12:07 PM

In the intro Michael says that "bottom line, if you are burned you are going nowhere." Then his new burned buddy, Jesse, goes to the islands with Fiona. Somehow that doesn't add up for me.

Jesse and Fiona got onto the boat illegally...plus, Jesse wasn't accused of being a psychopathic terrorist the way Michael originally was.

kcxiv 07-04-2010 03:30 PM

They also told Michael not to go anywhere. When he made that pipe bomb and sent it to his old handler. Mike told him, i am going to DC. he goes, dont go anywhere Mike, or they will have a manhunt for him.

Plus that guy leaving illegally in the boat.

Frankie 07-23-2010 04:21 PM

I have DVRed last night's episode, but I have'nt watched it yet. I have to comment, though, about last week's one that I watched a couple of nights ago. I thought it was perhaps the weakest. especially the one complaint that I always have about this show was played up too much. I'm so afraid of the shark when it comes to this show.

kcxiv 07-23-2010 04:52 PM

except they have used the exact same formula for every single episode.
