I met Herm earlier this year. He was extremely gracious. Some of the players I ran into had much bigger egos. I got blown off by Justin Medlock, and Mike Nugent got blown off by Dwayne Bowe. Herm wasn't anything like that. He took the time to talk to me one-on-one. Really nice guy.

I think if you put Bill Cowher, Andy Reid, or other excellent coaches in the same division as the Pats during that stretch (and had their QB get hurt 3 times), they would have struggled to get 3 playoff appearances and 2 playoff victories in that stretch.

Yes they were the worst run D in the league during the regular season, but something happened during the playoffs. I too thought, man how pathetic are we that the Colts are stopping us like this, but then they kept stopping teams as they advanced, except New England, but the Patriots seem to have the Colts number. Yes we stunk, but it has as much if not more to do with the fact that in the playoffs the Colts D came on strong.

21-24 points is a very good NFL effort.

If you score more than 21 points or more, on average...one of the following three things is true:

1. You have an OUTSTANDING offense, capable of hanging 30 point on ANYONE. (Vermeil's teams)
2. You are facing a defense that several NFL teams will LIKELY hang 30 points on. (Vermeil's teams)
3. You got turn-overs/breaks/defensive scores that obscure an otherwise average offensive effort. (Marty's teams)
