I got the same information from my signed Christian Okoye picture.

I'd have to imagine that Chan Gailey is going to reduce the responsibilities of Dick Curl. Gailey has been relatively successful as an OC, and Dick Curl appeared to be a disaster of a QB coach last year.

So after a series of PM's giving what I thought was constructive criticism, GOATSE's biggest problem is his inability to take criticism and unwillingness to accept that something he did was flawed.

He'd be better served, both as a human and as a writer, to simply say, 'Yup... it was a mistake. We were wrong.'

His unwillingness to do so earns him everything he gets on this board and further hurts the reputation of WPI, if you ask me.

He's a hack. That's all. Pay him no mind. Nothing to see here.

the other day I said, in a thread where goatse was discussing why he had players he liked and didn't like in the draft even though he doesn't watch college football, that goatse didn't know much. he sent me this rep comment that said sarcastically "you're right, i'm a complete moron who's laughing all the way to the bank at Nick's expense."

It was not the first time I saw an "i get PAID to do this" from him, but it made me crack up out loud. whoa, excuse me mr. bigtime. 'laughing all the way to the bank' eh, well, i'll just pipe down before you decide to run me over with your escalade...

I think Mr. GoChiefs has been doing great. Compared to where he started, his writing is vastly improved, for example. I'd hate to see him take the brunt of this deal because Nick instructed him to write an unconfirmed story as fact.

If anyone deserves a smackdown, it's that Nick guy. It's the cover story that bothers me. Even if it's 100% true, it sounds contrived and that doesn't help matters.

I disagree for the reasons stated prior. Yes, Nick deserves his own fair share of the blame. However, Clayton's the one that put his name on it. He's the one that made the mistake.

No. 1 rule of being a writer: Check. Your. Facts.

It doesn't matter who you heard it from. Unless you hear it from a trusted source yourself, you haven't done your job. You can't hear it from Nick, who heard it from his source. Then it's just hearsay.

I'll even give him some credit: his problem with this one is in the wording. He said he was confirmed the new coach. That's pretty final. In fact... there's that word again... the two sides had agreed in principle. There's a big friggin' difference.

That's his arrogance for being a "professional." The only difference between a pro and an amateur is the paycheck.

I can name you 20 people I know personally that are amateurs that are more professional than GOATSE is. On the flip side, I can name you another 20 people that are professionals that are hacks, too.

But those people are amateurs as well. I acknowledged that fact the whole time I was with them. I mean, technically I guess they're pros but IMO unless you're supporting your family with the proceeds then you're not really a pro - they're compensated hobbyists - which is how I fancy myself.

WPI always has a scapegoat when they have egg on their face. And I don't buy the Dorrell is promised the OC job in 2009 with Miami. Not for one minute. That's just a creative excuse why WPI ****ed up the story.

There is some confusion over the Karl Dorrell news that was reported last night. First WPI reported he had joined the Chiefs, and then the KC Star reported he was headed to Miami. Then WPI reported that the Star was right in it's report that WPI was wrong. Then ChiefsPlanet poster The Bad Guy reported that WPI was getting things wrong and making excuses.

All reports are correct.

How can you spin that as being true? If he was going to take the job, then backed out, that doesn't make it true. That says they have confirmed that he is the new WR coach. How could Nick Athan have confirmed that he was the coach if he was not the coach? "Confirmation" means you found out for sure that it's true. Obviously, they didn't.

What stinks here is that, given WPI's comical reputation, they say things like "we have confirmed", making you think they actually checked their story with a credible source this time.

In reality, it's the same old BS, some copy boy is feeding them suspect info, when they aren't just making it up out of whole cloth, and they don't bother to check it with a second source before printing.

A high-level Chiefs executive officer told us the staff had been filled. He certainly isn't a "copy boy." And we don't make stuff up. Ever.
