Funny thing is, it's the older Sean Connery who is good-looking. The "Highlander", "Medicine Man"-era one. Pre "Untouchables", the James Bond Connery was kinda goofy-looking.

I beg to differ.

If I was a woman, I'd be looking for two types of men: the handsome hero or the adorable type. The former is best typified by George Clooney and Harrison Ford, though Ford is a bit old now, and the archetype of the latter is Matthew Broderick (though I'd have issues with his alcohol use).

But apparently I have trouble putting myself in a woman's shoes, because I realize that the guys I picked are the guys I'd like to hang around with as another guy. They're guys with personality, as opposed to vacuous leading men.

Jude Law has the Ellen Barkin thing happening....one minute hot, the next minute just so ugly. In that movie, the Holiday, he was stunning, but man was he ugly in Closer.
Not a fan of Harrison Ford or Russell Crowe or Brad Pitt. I like more of a Clive Owen/George Clooney type person...and then the other type would be like a John Krasinski type or the guy from Chuck. Just kinda fun type men.

I'd pee in Ellen Barkin's butt, and then ask her for advice in life.

Jude Law is all lumpy and asymmetric in the face. I was shocked to hear that he's considered to be hunkish.

And Krasinski is a guy I'd put in the Matthew Broderick category. Charming and charismatic, which makes them more appealing even if they're not classic leading men. The female version of that is the "cutie" as opposed to the "beauty".
