No, epic fail of a coach would be a guy that lets a player return to the team and his starting position after publicly humiliating his coach. Even the ****ing Raiders aren't that inept, and they actually have legit reasons to trash their coach.

They're saying the Chiefs did the right thing, because for a while there it was looking like they might bring him back after the suspension and actually play him. Now this is not the case and I for one am damn happy this isn't the case and we don't have to worry about his bullcrap antics anymore.

Glad he's gone. I hope he does not get "angry" and have a good rest of the year on another team.

Hehe, that lays squarely on Carl Peterson. LJ should have been gone a while ago. LJ had no trade value for a few years now.

Specifically, ever since Carl had that "dramatic" signing of LJ to that ridiculously overpriced contract for the Hard Knocks cameras.

Cassel's take on it from that Star...

http://chiefsblog.kansascity.com/?q=node/1090

Matt Cassel: "It’s one of those things we’ll have to deal with as a team. The coach made the decision to go in another direction. Hopefully, these younger guys (Kolby Smith and Jamaal Charles) will step up for us."

Coog's comments on Matt's comments....

At least LJ didn't set the bar to high. And speaking of stepping up...

NFL record for fewest rushing TDs in a season is 1. For the love of all that is holy, punch it in, Jamaal and company.

If he doesn't go to a winning team it will be the same story all over again.

GloryDayz 11-09-2009 02:38 PM

I suspect he'll run his butt off to make the Chiefs look dumb. Now, three games into it, he might erupt..

maybe he waited out of spite to dock LJ $300K but the lawyers and the NFLPA told him no way you were getting more out of that turnip?

This. In my opinion this is better than cutting him 2 weeks ago. Not only did you cost him between $300K - $450K depending on what reports you believe, you kept off the field for 2 weeks.

a players job is to stfu and ****ing play football. certainly not to call a coach out on twitter. its the responsibility of the media and the fans to hold coaching and front office accountable.

Not really about being tough there spanky, more about a good business decision.

Tom Jackson was on SVP radio show and when asked if he was a GM would he sign Larry Johnson and he said "No, I am a bit old school and I want production not A PRODUCTION." Pretty much sums it up. Glad he is outta here. Let's move on shall we.

Yea. And I thought the Skins couldn't possibly implode anymore than they already have this year. That might just do it.

I don't really care too much for TJ one way or another but yes that quote is a good one. Sums it up pretty nicely.

Not saying you don't have a valid point. But I wonder how much it had to do with other factors, such as his contract and how much it would cost them to cut him. Larry became such a cancer that the Chiefs were forced to cut him. Contract bonuses/penalties be damned.
