Who is the BA kicker?
|
Oh got it. Marco takes Garret Lindholm, Tarleton State. Dude hit 3/4 from 60+ at his pro day and hit a 64 yarder in 2009.
|
So what do you all think of my Packers draft...
Anthony Davis Morgan Burnett Koa Misi Joe McKnight AJ Jefferson Clifton Geathers Zoltan Mesko Junior Gallette |
I'd be surprised if any team drafted Garret Lindholm. I've had him ranked as a priority UDFA since before last season. But you never know what reaches teams will make in the 7th.
|
Oh and for the record Reaper I would have used a pick on Joique Bell but Ryan Grant is essentially the same guy.
|
Did somebody PM Deez?

Dallas Cowboys are taking a flyer on a local kid. He is 6-3, runs a 4.4, and has plenty of raw talent.
Dallas Cowboys select David Gettis, WR, Baylor |
Here is the Cowboys's draft:
1. Charles Brown, OT, USC 2. Jon Asamoah, G, Illinois 3. Linval Joseph, NT, East Carolina 4. Javier Arenas, CB, Alabama 6. Joe Pawelek, LB, Baylor 7. David Gettis, WR, Baylor |
Can't believe this guy's still available. He had a really shitty bowl game and since then has been dropping down the charts. He's a top 5 QB in this draft for accuracy and comes from a pro system (Oregon State). If he gets a semi-decent coach who can work with him on footwork and other learnable fundamentals, I think I'll be a good one in this league.
The San Diego Chargers select Sean Canfield, QB, Oregon State |
So... how badly did I **** up the Chargers?
1. Ryan Matthews, RB, Fresno State 2. Dominique Franks, CB, Oklahoma 3. Carlton Mitchell, WR, South Florida 4. Perry Riley, LB, LSU 5a. Brandon Deaderick, DT, Alabama 5b. Robert Johnson, S, Utah 7. Sean Canfield, QB, Oregon State |
The New York Jets select Dexter Davis, OLB, Arizona State

Here is my Jets draft, not the greatest draft I've ever had but some needs were filled.
1. Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame 2. Thaddeus Gibson, OLB, Ohio State 5. Mike Johnson, G, Alabama 6. Kurt Coleman, S, Ohio State 7. Dexter Davis, OLB, Arizona State |
BPA for the Vikings at this point.
Vikings select MLB Reggie Carter, UCLA. |
The Colts select Simoni Lawrence OLB Minnesota.
|
With one pick left, this is what I've added to the Rams:
1. QB, Clausen 2. DT, Price 3. OG/T Saffold 4. TE Graham 5. Thurmond III, CB 5. Moats, OLB 6. Alexander, WR 7. Kristick, OLB 7. Church, SS |
Clausen is nice, the next three picks are highway robbery. The rest are solid enough to work for me.

Guess I'll go ahead and post my Bucs class....
1. Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska 2. Arrelious Benn, WR, Illinois 2. Navorro Bowman, LB, Penn St 3. Perrish Cox, CB, Oklahoma State 4. Montario Hardesty, RB, Tennessee 5. Greg Hardy, DE, Mississippi 5. Marshall Newhouse, OT, TCU 6. C.J. Wilson, DE, East Carolina 7. Antonio Brown, WR, Central Michigan 7. Terrell Skinner, S, Maryland 7. TBA |

Titans select:
Shelley Smith, OG, Colorado State And with that, DeezNutz is out. Draft. Done. Thanks for letting me participate, guys. |
With their final pick in the 20109 NFL draft, in the seventh round the Pittsburgh Steelers select
Raphael Priest CB TCU This kid is a good player and I was thinking about taking him in the last couple rounds, but had already made a significant investment in the position in the second round and thought there were more pressing needs. At this point, he is a steal. If his foot heals well and he improves his strength (which shouldnt be a problem in Pittsburgh) he should be a candidate for a starters position in a year or 2 and be an effective started in the league. |
The Philadelphia Eagles select Nolan Carroll, CB, University of Maryland
The Philadelphia Eagles select Shawn Lauvao, OG, Arizona State University |

Looks more like a RT to me. |
The Philadelphia Eagles 2010 Draft:
1st - Everson Griffin, DE, USC 2nd - Jared Veldheer, OT, Hillsdale 3rd - Jamar Chaney, LB, Mississippi State 3rd - Dekoda Watson, OLB, Florida State 4th - Dennis Pitta, TE, BYU 4th - Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford 6th - Ted Larsen, C, NC State 7th - Nolan Carroll, CB, Maryland 7th - Shawn Lauvao, OG, ASU |
The Seahawks close their draft out with Travis Ivey DT Maryland
The Colts close out their draft with Thomas Welch OT Vanderbilt |
Dan Koppen isn't getting any younger, and the Pats can always use bodies to fill their interior line, which is aging in dog years.
The New England Patriots select Joe Hawley, C, UNLV The Pats still need a Ted backer to pair with Mayo. This dude may just be a career STer, but he could give you spot duty. The New England Patriots select Nathan Triplett, ILB, Minnesota |
The one position for the Panthers I wanted to address in this draft that I didn't is defensive line. It just never seemed like the value matched where my pick was. Anyway, we'll add some depth here and see if the kid can make the team. He had great production in college, was a first team all-ACC player with 77 tackles, 10.5 TFL and six sacks as a senior, but is a bit undersized at 6'2", 290. Could be a penetrating undertackle though. The Panthers select Nate Collins, DT, Virginia.

Drafts for the Panthers and Bengals are wrapped up, and here's what we ended up with:
Bengals 1. Mike Iupati, G, Idaho 2. Reshad Jones, S, Georgia 3. Dexter McCluster, WR/RB, Mississippi 4. D'Anthony Smith, DT, Louisiana Tech 4. Ed Dickson, TE, Oregon 5. Brandon Lang, DE, Troy 6. Dezmon Briscoe, WR, Kansas 7. Leigh Tiffin, K, Alabama Wish the comp picks would have come out a little sooner. That other 3rd for the Bengals would have been nice. Panthers 2. Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech 3. Austen Lane, DE, Murray State 4. Rennie Curran, OLB, Georgia 6. Jarrett Brown, QB, West Virginia 6. Blair White, WR, Michigan State 6. Brandon Banks, KR, Kansas State 7. Jeff Byers, C/OG, USC 7. Nate Collins, DT, Virginia |
Dude....I wish the Eagles would have made all of those trades before this thing started.
I would have went from: 1st 2nd 3rd 3rd 4th 4th 6th 7th 7th to: 1st 2nd 2nd 3rd 3rd 4th 4th 5th 6th 7th 7th |
The Patriots finish up with a small school sleeper at another weak position. This guy has the size to be a good blocking TE, but he also has some receiving chops, hauling in 51 passes for almost 600 yards and 13 TDs his senior year.
The New England Patriots select, Nathan Overbay, TE, Eastern Washington |
SNR wants me to make his pick for him.
The Raiders select Jeromy Miles, FS, UMass |
My Patriots draft is finished
1. Bruce Campbell, OT 2. Ghee. CB 2. Wooton, DE 2. Sapp, OLB 4. Blount, RB 6. Basped, OLB 6. Weston, NT 7. Stephen Williams, WR 7. Matt Dodge, P 7. Joe Hawley, C 7. Nathan Triplett, ILB 7. Nathan Overbay, TE |
Here are my picks for OTW:
Chiefs 5: Lindsey Witten, OLB 5: Jay Ross, NT Texans: 5: Roderick Muckelroy, OLB 6: Armanti Edwards, WR 6: Deji Karim, RB 7: Jamar Wall, CB |
Miami Dolphins select Drew Davis, OT, Alabama
|
First off wanted to say thanks to OnTheWarpath and Mecca for making this happen every year. Feel like this was one of the best mocks we've ever had and I'm already looking forward to next year. Anyway, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Colin Peek, TE, Alabama

Anyone interested in running back through the 1st and possibly 2nd round with the knowledge of trades and signings?
You gotta think things are going to change early with the McNabb trade. Who's game? We can start on Monday. |

|
I would be game for that. If we don't get through the 2nd, **** it we already have the main one done.

I'll make changes to the draft order for R1 and R2, and we have the knowledge of trades and signings we didn't have last month. And as CC said, who gives a shit if we don't finish the 2nd? Or even the 1st for that matter. Just for fun. |
Oh and I'm game.
|
I'm in for sure.

Well, I'm on the clock yet again.
The Rams address yet another position on O, as this guy is really good value here, although he carries an injury risk. He missed the entire 2009 season due to a shoulder injury, but at least it wasn't anything related to the legs, knees, or feet. He's a runner who is quicker rather than fast, but he's got good speed, decent size (a bit thin), and great vision. He was also a very productive player, although he does have questions about the level of comp. The St. Louis Rams select James Starks, RB, Buffalo |
The Rams Draft is now complete:
1. Clausen, QB 2. Price, DT 3. Saffold, OT/G 4. Graham, TE 5. Thurmond III, CB 5. Moats, DE/OLB 6. Alexander, WR 7. Kristick OLB 7. Church, SS 7 Starks, RB I think that draft would significantly improve the team |
What I learned is being the Redskins really sucks.
|
Yeah, I'd be game to run through the first 2 rounds again
|
I'm in.
|
I'm in like the single guy being hit on by the MILF at work.
|
The Detroit Lions conclude the Chiefs Planet 2010 Mock Draft by selecting this year's Mr. Irrelevant from Wisconsin TE Garrett Graham.
Lions 1)Okung LT 2)McCourty CB/KR 3)Alualu DT 4)Tate RB 5)TJ Ward S 6)W. McFadden CB 7)G. Johnson DE 7)G. Graham TE Say what you will about taking a LT or DT at #2 overall but the Lions came away with a much needed infusion of talent. |
I'm happy to do a R 1 and 2 redo.
|
So - y'all going to figure out who Mr. Irrelevant is?
|
If we are gonna do this, we need to start soon and cut the time from 24 hours to 12 hours or something like that...
|
I think we should cut this down to about 8-10 owners and cut the times down to 12 hours. That should allow us to at least get through the 1st round.
|
Lets Rock-n-Roll. In response to arc, The Lions selected TE Garrett Graham from Wisconsin.

Well, interesting draft. Comparing where I picked these guys against where they went in the real draft is pretty interesting. A few of the guys I got steals on in the mock (McCluster, Smith, Dickson, Thomas, Curran), and I completely bombed on others compared to where they were or weren't drafted (Lang, Brown, Jones, White, etc.).
All in all, this was fun to do, so thanks for letting me in it. Will be interesting to see how these guys perform for the next few years. Below, I have where I drafted them, and to the right of the player, I have listed what round and overall pick they actually went at in the NFL draft. Bengals 1 (21). Mike Iupati, G, Idaho (1-17) 2 (54). Reshad Jones, S, Georgia (5-163) 3 (84). Dexter McCluster, WR/RB, Mississippi (2-36) 4 (120). D'Anthony Smith, DT, Louisiana Tech (3-74) 4 (131). Ed Dickson, TE, Oregon (3-70) 5 (152). Brandon Lang, DE, Troy (Undrafted) 6 (191). Dezmon Briscoe, WR, Kansas (6-191) NAILED this one! 7 (228). Leigh Tiffin, K, Alabama (Undrafted) Panthers 2 (48). Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech (1-22) 3 (78). Austen Lane, DE, Murray State (5-153) 4 (112). Rennie Curran, OLB, Georgia (3-97) 6 (175). Jarrett Brown, QB, West Virginia (Undrafted) 6 (202). Blair White, WR, Michigan State (Undrafted) 6 (204). Brandon Banks, KR, Kansas State (Undrafted) 7 (223). Jeff Byers, C/OG, USC (Undrafted) 7 (249). Nate Collins, DT, Virginia (Undrafted) |
Pioli tried to copy my drafts. Drafted 3 of the same guys I did.

hadn't noticed how far Reshad jones fell...that guy got some bad advice coming out |
Quote:
In three years, I'm going to bet we wish the draft had fallen this way. 5. Eric Berry (R1/5th overall) 36. Jerry Hughes (R1/31st overall) 50. Chad Jones (R3/76th overall) 68. Mardy Gilyard (R4/99th overall) 102. Anthony McCoy (R6/185th overall) 136. Chris Scott (R5/151st overall) Hamas' picks: Jay Ross, Lindsay Witten, UDFA's. |
My Steelers draft started off ok, then the train came off the tracks, no player that I took after the 4th round getting drafted at all....oh well, it was fun!
(18) Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama (went 8th overall) <---value of 10 slots (52) Amari Spievey, CB, Iowa (went 66th overall) <----reach of 14 slots (82) Torrell Troup, NT, Central Florida (41st overall) <----value of 41 spots (4) Dan LeFevour, QB, Central Michigan (went in 6th) <-----reach of 2 rounds (5) Vince Oghobaase, DE, Duke (ouch UDFA) <-----------------dont want to talk about the rest (5c) Micah Johnson, ILB, Kentucky (another one UDFA) (6) Antonio Coleman, OLB, Auburn (keeping the streak alive) (7) Derek Hardman, OT, Eastern Kentucky (you guessed it) (7c) Raphael Priest, CB, TCU (train wreck) ... My Falcons draft had its good moments and its bad ones. Overall it was pretty close to where the players went. (1,19) Sean Weatherspoon, LB, Missouri (BOOM!! Nailed it baby!!!) (3,83) Jacoby Ford, WR, Clemson (4,108) <-------reach by 25 picks (4) Syd'Quan Thompson, CB, California (7) <-------reach by 3 rounds, this kid is gonna be a good player for Denver, knowshit will let us know all about him (5) Anthony Dixon, RB, Mississippi State (6) <-------reach of 1 round (5c) Tony Moeaki, TE, Iowa (3) <------------value of basically 3 rounds (6) Thomas Austin, G/C, Clemson (7) <------reach or 1 round (7) Aaron Pettrey, K, Ohio State (UDFA) <-----we needed a kicker after Elams retirement, the kid is impressive. |
Troup you did well with since he went at the top of the 2nd.

and Angerer was over-drafted by the Colts. Remember our discussion about him when you said something like "I don't think I ever jumped out of my skin to pimp an undersized, slow linebacker" Seems that one of the best evaluating teams in the league agreed with me, even though me and the Colts evidently were the only ones. Same with Moeaki. Those two are gonna be really good players in the league. I may not have watched as much college ball as some on this site, but I am pretty spot on with the ones I have seen. |
After having a great year last year http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=206839 I channeled by inner King Carl this year.
Tampa Bay 1st. Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska 1st 2nd. Arrelious Benn, WR, Illinois 2nd got the team right 2nd. Navorro Bowman, LB, Penn St 3rd 3rd. Perrish Cox, CB, Oklahoma State 5th 4th. Montario Hardesty, RB, Tennessee 2nd 5th.Greg Hardy, DE, Mississippi 6th 5th. Marshall Newhouse, OT, TCU 5th 6th. C.J. Wilson, DE, East Carolina 7th 7th. Antonio Brown, WR, Central Michigan 6th 7th. Terrell Skinner, S, Maryland UDFA 7th. Colin Peek, TE, Alabama UDFA Jets 1st. Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame 2nd 2nd. Thaddeus Gibson, OLB, Ohio State 4th 5th. Mike Johnson, G, Alabama 3rd 6th. Kurt Coleman, S, Ohio State 7th 7th. Dexter Davis, OLB, Arizona State 7th Only 3 values but only 2 UDFA's so I'll take it. |

Not sure why, you drafted a slot guy, a TE, and 2 safeties before getting a NT or a ILB. That alone equals FAIL, right? I mean look at the NTs and ILBs available when you ignored the only needs that matter, stuck to your board and went with Gilyard and Jones..... Cam Thomas, NT, North Carolina Torrell Troup, NT, Central Florida Linval Joseph, NT, East Carolina Jamar Chaney, ILB, Mississippi State Sean Lee, ILB, Penn State |
Quote:
Had they taken Cody or Joseph in R2, I would have been fine with it. May not have agreed with it, but would have been fine with it. I addressed our biggest need, the pass rush. Daryl Washington was my pick at 50, but was taken a few spots ahead of me. There wasn't another ILB worth the pick at the time, IMO. Koa Misi would have been redundant after taking Hughes. In round 3, I had a decision to make. Sean Lee, who at the time (6 weeks ago) I felt was a solid R3 pick, or hope he falls and take the guy that solves BOTH the WR3 AND KR holes. Had Gilyard just been a slot guy, or just a KR guy, I probably would have went with Lee. I felt that if I missed Lee, that Chaney would be there at the top of R4. I was wrong, but I filled two spots with a 3rd round pick, versus Pioli filling both holes with both R2 picks. McCoy was a no brainer in R4 with Lee and Chaney off the board. He's a 2nd round talent that fell because he failed a drug test after we started the mock. And I didn't give up picks to get him, like Pioli did with Brokie Moeaki. |
Thanks for the reply. Like I said during our mock I'd take your draft in heartbeat since I'm a big believer in playmakers early and fat late. Just wanted a little clarification.
