I'm certainly not stating that it's impossible but I have a hard time believing that Clark Hunt would be willing to have $18-$25 million wrapped up in two receivers each season. |

Congrats JC! |
Someone painted a happy face on me.
I really like this team. Unlike Carl, they actually proactively manage the team instead of letting things become crises. |

And I've never used that particular emoticon before. Happy holidays. |

does indeed seem to be the case.....and let me say once for old times sake: **** you Carl |

Simply because that is the order that we have the rights for the specific players. If we hold player rights for 5 years, this is the final year that we own Halis rights and if we lost him, where would our pass rush be? Remember 2008 when we had 10 sacks? |
Judging by New England's track record I wonder how they will regard Flowers. New England sort of let its defensive backs walk.
|
Quote:
I think they ****ed up with Asante Samuel, but I don't see Clark Pioli letting Flowers walk like NE did Asante... I think NE felt they could do so and they still had enough talent to sustain a playoff caliber defense without him, this is a different situation. |

Flowers is 24 As I pointed out, we own his rights another 3 years unless a new CBA is agreed upon...Hali only has one more year and Bowe has 2...again, using the current structure. There is no way Flowers is going anywhere for the next 6 years or more. |

We can place tenders on either player of a 1st and 3rd or franchise either to keep them once their contract expires up until after their 6th year in the league. That is why DJ is still a Chief and he didnt hit the open market after his rookie deal expired. |
Quote:
Besides Samuel, I dont really remember the letting any good corners walk. The only way I see Flowers not being a Chief in three years is if we get at least a 1st and 3rd for him and we sign everyone else, which I would view as a mistake because players like Flowers are extremely rare and almost irreplaceable. If we lose him in the next couple years, it sets this defense back a couple steps. |
That is a pretty cheap contract. I was hoping Pioli would overspend like he did with Derrick Johnson.

Dude is gonna be in full on beast mode. Same goes for Belcher. ... Id also like to say that I think its very telling that KnowMo just made a comment about something Chiefs without adding some useless crap about the Broncos. |

And this is a good thing...

Flowers basically has 2 more years on his deal after this one. He'll be an RFA after next year.
Lock Hali up now. Lock Bowe up next year and then get Flowers in the last year of his deal. |
Might wanna' work on re-signing Brandon Carr, too.
|
That's a truly great contract for us, and it should cover the remainder of his useful years. Who is the guy who does the contracts for the Chiefs now (I know they separated these two formally after Carl left, but a new guy was hired in this capacity this year, IIRC)?

that is one hell of a good deal for the chiefs

He is restricted, but his contract is up after this year iirc. |
Quote:
Besides, Flowers will still be very young when his next contract is up, and like Seymour, he's a special enough defensive player that they'll most likely cave to his demands. |
Quote:
Hell of a nice job to both of them. |
It is not a coincidence that his initials are JC and he signed his extension a few weeks before Christmas.;)

Is it Mark Donovan? |

Could be. Whoever it is has done a great job. Ultimately, of course, the owner and GM always sign off on those deals, but someone else usually does a majority of the legwork. The Charles and Johnson extensions were great deals, because we weren't buying at their lowest, but we still retained promising players for a long period of time before their price escalated due to the open market.

There is a guy from another site I post on that has pmd me info from time to time that all of which has came to fruition...well one was a rumor that completely fits. 1) Clark Hunt is being hands on with trying to lock down the young core of this team for the long haul. 2) Haley felt Josh had cheated in the first meeting by some means of finding out about plays we hadnt run in games. this was part of the reasoning of "there is a lot of shit being talked about you" 3) He told me that DJs deal was gonna happen "in the following days" and had already been negotiated..e told me this a couple days before it was announced (at the time I didnt make much of it TBH) I will hold more weight to what info he shoots me in the future because these three seem to be true. |

Maybe next year we won't be decimated by injuries in training camp and I will have a reason to watch. |

Now that your team sucks, again, you have another excuse. You lost one key player. Dumervil. That's it. Maybe next year you'll get some talent on your team, an actual HC and an actual GM who can evaluate talent. Some real ****ing fan you are. The Chiefs sucked balls for 3 years, but I didn't miss a ****ing snap. You're a ****ing joke of a person. |
Now that KnowMo will have to leave, he will just have to only use Awesome Aric from now on.
|
Quote:
He's pulling the too cool attitude now. He spent months hyping the Broncos, making bets that he would never support about how they would be better than the Chiefs, and when it all falls apart, he pulls the "I don't care/here's another excuse card". I'm baffled by how many on this board like him. |
Quote:
This years failure had little to do with training camp injuries and a whole lot to do with the way Josh dismantled your team step by step. |
It's pretty clear that we can't take KnowMo seriously as a Bronco fan.

The first time we started our entire offensive line was the first game we played against you guys. Our secondary has been banged up all year.... This has been a fluke of a season. The bright side is that Denver only has a season like this once a decade and we will back to our winning ways next year. |

A fluke season? How can it be a fluke season when everyone with a ****ing brain and a pulse predicted the Broncos would be roughly 5-11.
It's a predictable season. A fluke is watching Brandon Lloyd turn in a top 5 receiver season or Kyle Orton leading the NFL in passing yards. That's a fluke if you want to label that. But the Broncos record? Hardly a fluke. |

And sorry to disappoint, but your hero Mc****overafranchise just skull ****ed you guys into the ground for at least the next two upcoming seasons. Enjoy the bottom of the AFC West. |
He seems to think that before this season. They were having winning ways.

Nobody here can honestly say that Denver won both the Cutler and Marshall trades.
We lost the Hillis and Scheffler trades but we struck gold with the big trades, heck we still have a second round pick coming to us from the Marshall trade. |
