Now, if I were on here talking about how great Denver was, how everyone that doubted them is dumb and how they were going to trounce the Patriots... yeah, I'd certainly be deserving of that comment above. :thumb:

:p I hear ya and like I mentioned in another thread... next week could be a total 180 from yesterday's performance and we're back where we were 36 hours ago.

I'm glad to see an AFCW team win and defeat a 12 win team like the Steelers.

Predarat 01-09-2012 08:44 AM

For some stupid ass reason I kind of liked the guy. Hope he returns, or as others have said, at least lets us know how his girls are.

Well, that sucks. But you gotta respect a man who honors his bet (or promise?).

No reason for you to leave Hamas. Too many people have come to bat for you in this thread. I understand wanting to be a stand-up guy, but you don't owe anything to anyone.

The draft forum needs you. The drafturbators need you. You are a source of truth for a team that still thinks Super Bowls can be won with Trent Dilfer clones at QB.

Please don't do this to yourself.

If this was over that game, then he was stupid to take that bet. If there was one team the Donks could beat in the playoffs, it would be the Steelers. I was saying it to my friends, I shoulda said it here so I could get an Internet pat on the back.

No, its stupid to feel you have to "honor" some meaningless internet message board bet. Its pointless. Hopefully he left over more meaningful reasons.

It's stupid, but people would also be justified in making snide comments about it any chance they got if he came back. He's the one that said it.

and?? who cares.....everyone talks smack on here. Its what we do and the culture of the board. He would get made fun of, but people would forgive him for it and move on.

Like i said last night, this is pointless, and very junior high.

And? That's what's happening here. People are talking junk. So what? If he comes back he comes back. I don't care. But I don't think it's middle school for people to give him a hard time about it today.

Hamas Jenkins gets rolled over by Demetrius Thomas on the first play of OT and suffers an ACL injury. He will be out for the next 12 months rehabbing.

Hamas can still post in Media Center, though, right? He always has a bunch of helpful info about a great many things.

Why wouldn't you honor it. I paid Taco John my 6-pack after a loss to the Broncos and it was such a PITA that I haven't made any other message board wagers since.

That said, he didn't really "bet" anybody based on my understanding. He made a general statement. I guess he feels like he has a binding wager with the populous here. I'm not even a big fan of the guy (though I think he has mellowed and grown on me since he had the girls) and I wouldn't have a problem with him not serving out a full year.

Dr. Johnny Fever 01-09-2012 04:57 PM

Just so you guys know I don't plan on making any bets that would banish me from the board at any time if I lose. I know that's a load off everyones mind.

Heh. The chip on this guy's shoulder is amusing.

On another note, I've recently been given the new house rule by the wife. Can't say "reerun" any longer. Apparently she has a couple new friends who each have autistic kids and she doesn't want our daughter using "reerun" around them. I resisted, saying the word is fine and has been for 40 years. Why do I have to change my vernacular just because people decided it was insensitive. I lost the battle though. I have to try not to say it around my kid.

Also, I have a friend who works as a para in a school district, and calls his clients his "tards." I could ask him, "How was work today?" and he would say, "Ehhh... the tards were giving me shit."

I figured. I know some people don't like it. I still don't have any problem with the word as long as it's not used maliciously. I explained the same thing to a midget friend of mine. He was talking about how he didn't like "midget", which I'll respect since he asked and I rather like him. But it's a legitimate word. Don't punish me because others have used it with malicious intent. I don't use N-bombs or other racially insensitive words at all.

I know my stance is insensitive. I won't use the word around somebody I know is sensitive to it.
