He sucks SNR. You're right to talk bad about him.

Canofbier 12-31-2012 12:31 PM

Come on guys, we have to expect a QB to struggle a bit against a top-tier defense like Vanderbilt! Glennon is the next Peyton Montana!

I see potential in the guy, but there's no way he should be considered at the top of the draft. Smith and Wilson are both far better options. Also, do you really want that to be the face of the franchise?

He is a goofball, but really that has no affect on my opinion of him. I'd take Peyton Manning's forehead on my team anyday.

From the Youtube videos I've watched of him, among studying his schedule... I just don't see anything special that would warrant picking him over Geno, Wilson, or even Barkley.

Not watching the game but does Glennon have the same problem Croyle had? Throwing the ball as hard as he can on every throw making it more difficult to catch the ball.

He is looking better throwing to wide open WR's.

Glennon has the best tools of any QB in this entire draft.

His WR's have dropped so many balls that his accuracy has taken hit for it. I think this kid has the most potential for long-term success in the NFL.

Switching over to watch Barkley throw some picks now.

I'm no Glennon fan (I've watched a few games and his highlight reels on youtube), but just like with Geno's pinstripe bowl game you cannot judge a QB based on 1 game.

If this is your first time watching Glennon, I suggest you go watch a bit more of him and make a better judgement. The thing I'm going to tell you is that most likely you are going to come to the same conclusion, lol. His WR's suck the balls, but Kiper is also sucking some balls.

Glennon very well could be the next Peyton Manning, but if he is... nobody is going to expect it after watching his game tape.

I posted this in the Geno thread before the NCST/Vandy game:

Quote:

If you want to know who the guy that Glennon reminds me of in college it's Ricky Stanzi.

Big arm, good football IQ, decent release and corrected some early college career inaccuracies to a point, but still struggles to make good throws down range and tends to get nervous when the game is put into his hands and that will force him to make bad decisions with the ball.

This Mike Glennon in the first round bullshit is, not to be redundant but...bullshit.

If not for the fact that he's 6'6" and is relatively athletic with a big arm, there would be no discussion of Glennon until the later part of the third round at best.

I mean, if this guy passes up Tyler Bray, Ryan Nassib and EJ Manuel, let alone Matt Barkley, Tyler Wilson and Geno Smith, that should be a definite "you just got your pink slip moment" for the GM that pulls that trigger.

I'm still amazed how much authority and weight is given to guys like Kiper and McShay and Mayock. I swear that they just pick a dude to prop up simply to show people how much power and sway they have over the uneducated masses of football fans.

I think Brad Sorensen of shitty Southern Utah is a better NFL prospect than Glennon.

I understand your point about that he could possible outplay some other higher picks... but Dalton was a great prospect because he played great in college... not because he is 6'6.

Dalton was accurate as all get out and was an absolute stud playing under pressure.

The knock on Glennon is that he forces throws and makes bad decisions when the pressure starts to get turned up. Like now.

And I'm pretty sick of having a QB who can't throw under pressure. One that makes bad decisions when they have to make a throw.

Quick Slants = the most efficient pass in football.

If we got a OC in here that would utilize Geno's quick release on slants and let the WR's get some YAC across the middle, we would have a good offense.

These quick slants then open the deep ball in which Geno excels...

Now, defenses can game plan against this... but that is what Jamaal Charles is for.

Geno could be awesome in KC.

Aside of the 3 INT's, everything else he has done has been solid. I have only seen 1 INT, the last one that was under thrown, can not comment on the previous 2, he just under threw the one in the end zone. He has hit many WR's in the 3's and came away with nothing due to drops.

A kid with solid tools, ( footwork is solid, arm solid, not over powering, his lone mechanical problem is his long wind up delivery, not compact at all )a project that has career back up all over it unless a good QB coach can get more out of him.

Maybe, didn't come out the way I wanted to say it, phone was ringing here at work. The one I saw of the 3 was under thrown.... can not comment on the other 2. Not aware if the WR's tipped them, etc. Several throws I have witnessed were solid, on the #'s only to have his WR's miss them, unable to catch for whatever reason, the delivery was there.

A few of the out patterns I saw were money, I have only seen 2 balls so far badly thrown.

To be fair here, Glennon is better than many on here will give him credit for. It will never happen, but I would love to have him as our back up behind Geno.

If you can get Glennon as a third/forth round pick, thats great. But the big knock on Glennon for us Geno Smith fans is that morons like Kiper are saying that he is the best QB in the draft and should go #1. Then you have all of the sheep that listen to Kiper believe him without even watching any tape.
