Sorry. I'm not in a position to question Schefter and his sources.
|
Howard Eskin @howardeskin
I'm hearing from sources Andy Reid going to Ariz Cards could have hangup if he insists former #eagles and #browns GM Tom Heckert comes w him Expand Hmm did I call it or did I call it? |

They are all wrong quite a bit. Every reporter. Wrong. Sometimes. They all want to be first so they throw it out as soon as they hear something, they don't always research it Posted via Mobile Device |

They will discuss things like this. That's why Schefter was premature in saying it was 95 percent prior to an interview happening Posted via Mobile Device |

Adam Schefter is right about 95% of the time. He's the best in the business.
|
Reid is from Los Angeles and went to school at BYU. Coached at Northern Arizona and in El Paso. Geographically and his background fits perfectly with Arizona. I would venture the hold up would be who he brings along for GM. Arizona has a pretty good choice in-house I believe.

I'm not in any way saying is not going to happen. Hell I don't want Reid here, so it's not even wishful thinking. I just don't buy all the shit that gets flung around these days. Twitter has ruined credible reporting imo Posted via Mobile Device |
#1 Schefter is reporting that a league source says he's 95% sure.
#2 What if Reid is doing this to blow smoke and get the price up from another organization by leaking info like this. Coaches and Players do it all the time and the fact that the Cardinals have not even interviewed him or shown him the facilities or anything I think it's a hooplah right now. Not to mention whats great about Arizona? Honestly? They had a worse pass attack than we did, Kolb is obviously dried up, they have a newer stadium but their fanbase is nowhere near as dedicated as ours. They've only sniffed postseason success once when they went to the Superbowl. I just don't understand why he believes thats the best situation to continue his career. Not to mention in the same division as Harbaugh and Carroll with a two years behind each in building? I'd think you'd come here where you only have to deal with the Broncos and that's until Peyton hangs it up which should be in the next year or two. |
hahah here it comes
once coaches with somewhat of a name start coming off the board to what Chiefs homers consider shittier teams (they are right), its going to fly WHY DID ____ CHOOSE ____ OVER US? here's why. Scott Pioli. so while Reid goes to Arizona and Chip Kelly goes to ____ and Bill Cowher and Billick stay in the studio and Gruden goes to ____ you will at the end of the day, wonder why. Just like you wonder why Peyton Manning chose Denver. Same constant |

Reid wont consider us as long as Pioli has an office space |

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
One source close to Andy Reid insisted deal w/ Cards not close. Another source said Cards search open and no leading candidate at this time |
If Reid is hired there, AZ should go hard after Mike Wallace to play opposite Fitz. Probably can't afford him though. Plus a QB is a bit more important.

Jason Cole thinks Reid lands in KC.

There sure are a lot of baseless assumptions on this site lately. Personally I'll wait to see what actually happens. |
That's ok if true. We'll take his twin brother Holmgren.

This reminds of Shanahan to KC DONE DEAL!!!! Chris Mortensen reported as such, and then the rat said, "What the **** are you talking about?" I hope Reid comes to KC. Death to Pioli!!!!

Its funny because LaConfora mentions KC as a sleeping giant for HC, then mentions reid twice, now Jason Cole thinks KC, John Clayton said KC...until Reid is in Arizona ill say Reid will go to KC. But if Clark cant land a good coach he's BSing

If Clark wants Reid, Pioli is out. I don't see how Reid could possibly work with Pioli. |
PFT suggested his agent might be blowing smoke about Arizona. Just as long as he doesn't come here I don't care where he goes. He should take a year off or more to get his life straightened out.

There are 2 reasons that Pioli is still around. 1) Clark likes Pioli and still has faith in him. 2) Clark is trying to work around the contract to save money for when he fires him. |

Clark is either an emo pussy who is holding out hope he can find a coach willing to work with his best brah scott.....or, some legal issue around money is holding up pioli's certain firing
we'll know soon fwiw, petro was adamant this morning on his show that he has 'sources' saying Cowher is not going to coach this year... |

Had a couple people adamantly tell me no deal was close for Reid in the afternoon. Lot of smoke out there. But looks like they were right. |

Sean Payton just signed the biggest deal for a coach at 7.5 per year and I'd bet anything Clark would have no problem matching that for Cowher or Reid.
That is, if he is to be taken at face value. |

So Schefter has reported it both ways. 95 percent a done deal. Not even close Best in the business. Posted via Mobile Device |

Cushy jobs. I figured they were making $500,000-700,000 per. There really is no reason to come back unless they desire another SB. |

so I dont see why Clark would have no problem paying an actual real NFL coach |
Horton will get a second interview with the Cardinals
Posted by Mike Florio on January 1, 2013, 10:39 PM EST At a time when a “source” (possibly, agent Bob LaMonte) is expressing “95 percent” certainty to Adam Schefter that Andy Reid will be the next coach of the Cardinals and Arizona P.R. guru Mark Dalton is saying there’s a 99-percent chance that the 95-percent assessment is 100-percent inaccurate, someone not named Andy Reid will be getting a second interview for the job. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton will interview with Arizona brass for a second time on Wednesday, two days after his initial interview for the job. The source advises that Horton also will interview with the Bills on Wednesday evening, and confirms that Horton interviewed with the Browns on Tuesday in Arizona. On Monday, the Cardinals fired coach Ken Whisenhunt, G.M. Rod Graves, and the entire offensive coaching staff. The defensive staff remains in place. |
On Sirius tonight they said there's a strong group of Cardinals players beating the drum for Horton.
