It was obvious that it was staged.

Does anyone else think that the wife of the embezzler is hot?
|
She looks like Rashida Jones in mom pants and hair. I never got It's all good man out of Saul Goodman until he said that in the ally way. This show is TIGHT TIGHT TIGHT>

The guy was up there basically doing nothing, and he fell only when Saul was making his statement with the camera rolling. Then the "it took you long enough" comment with the handshake. He couldn't get the local news to cover his story, but he knew that they couldn't ignore a rescue like that and his name and ad would be all over town. |
That whole episode was really a bit too hokey for me.
That opening scene was really pretty ridiculous. It was one of those only-on-TV schemes that only works if a whole bunch of little things go exactly right, all while relying on a stranger to act exactly as you want. That guy could have easily said, "Eh, I'll just keep the cash." It was just kind of stupid. |

Well that's kinda odd that the writers want us to believe a scam like that would work. That's not like them at all.
It's almost like this one hokey show I used to watch where the main character was in hiding from a drug lord. He ended up hatching a really odd scheme to get rid of the guy that would never work in real life. It had to do with a bell, an old Mexican guy in a wheelchair, explosives, poison beans, poison berries and a kid in the hospital. Really weird. Had to suspend belief a little there. |

That opening scene was ****ing hilarious.
Really, really digging this show. |

It was a little slow paced but it's setting up something huge. I was really expecting Saul to meet up with a certain bell-ringing grandpa at the nursing home. |
Slower episode. That started well
...not bad though |

Love'd his acting while he was getting that "one million dollar retainer". WFT to WTF. So good. |
I thought it was great. Best one yet, it keeps getting better every week.
|
Probably the worst episode so far. I mean, one of them has to be the worst, i guess it was this one
|
Excited to see what they do with Mike's
Spoiler!
Kerry Condon, loved her in two great HBO series, Rome and Luck. Plus, Irish accent. Rawr. |
This show is ****ing great.

The story with Saul's brother is getting a little tiresome.
|
Quote:
Factoring in the brother seemingly being manipulative of Saul and Saul feeling that he owes his brother for helping him out of big trouble in the flashback and you have an interesting dynamic. |

It's a good show. I'm really digging it. |
Since Saul's bro and his chick are nowhere in bb it makes me wonder if something happens to them later.

Got caught up on this last night and give it a solid 8/10 so far. One very minor pet peave; when Saul goes to his brother's house why does he put his electronics in the mail box instead of just leaving them in the car?
|
Quote:
1. Then the audience wouldn't really know how bad his brother's 'condition' is. 2. I believe that Jimmy's brother likes to actually see the electronics being put away (at times). |
it's a federal offense to mess with mail he is a lawyer and he knows that.

Saul and Mike connection begins.......

it took that old lady nearly 90 seconds of uncut television to get down stairs to the couch. I can understand why people called this episode slow. I still loved it.
|
Who would win in no holds barred fight to the death? Paco or Tommy DeSimone (Joe Pesci's character in Goodfellas)?

And that he has some kind of kooky condition. Just seems like it is just something weird for the sake of being weird. I guess I should have more faith in the writers. The one good aspect of it is that is leads to Saul's interactions with the douchebag law partner. Those are pretty good. |

Actually, many are. Totally depends on whether they run a route near the delivery. I grew up with my father the publisher and printer of a newspaper in SWMO, and we mailed more than got thrown. |

love this series. I didn't check entire thread.. but there is a conspiracy theory of red and blue being a significant theme of good vs evil |

I've been re-watching Breaking Bad with my wife and son, who haven't seen it before, and last night we hit "Open House" in Season 4. In that episode Marie is showing up at open houses, pretending to be a different person each time, and stealing stuff. At one of the houses she lifts ... a Hummel figurine.
Perfect timing, as I had forgotten that and hadn't made the connection during Sunday night's Better Call Saul. I have no idea if the figurine she stole was part of the old lady's collection in Saul, but I'm 100 percent sure they were different houses. |

I was suprised afterwards when I saw the ep title. What a wierd thing to key on. Gotta have some significance.

* - Last part about Cosby is snark, initial title info is true. Middle part about licensing is supposition on why they changed the title. |

Are you ****ing kidding me? This series is starting off incredible! Love it.

Mike never was big on half measures. Holy ****.
|
Fantastic episode
|
those cops are dumb. a nickle plated .45 is not mikes style
|
Hey brother. We've got a thread already. I'll merge them.
|
****ing great ass episode. ****ing phenomenal.
|
Man. That last scene was tough to watch. That, ladies and gentlemen was quality television. That was more emotion than his entire breaking bad role.
I'm glad I stayed up to watch it. Problem will be getting to sleep for an early morning. ****ing fieldwork :cuss: |
That's the difference between good and great: character development.
That episode provided more roundness to Mike's character than three seasons of BB ever did. The great thing about BCS to this point is that it enriches both series, whereas so many prequels just bastardize them. |
Jonathan Banks delivered a great performance!
That was an awesome episode of great television. |

This show gives me a giant TV boner. I love Mike and the way they've been able to squeeze so much story out him. Just amazing shit.
|
"You know what happened. The question is...can you live with it." Slow zoom out. Total silence.
What a fantastic ending. |
Fantastic episode.
