Yes, you call him out and report him.
But I'm not shocked you need advice on this. Teenagers were running trains on your wife and you probably licked her from head to toe the next day. |

As for the software, if it is mom and pop, it could be handle with just excel tracking on spot checks on random skus. The thing I would be worried about the most by them not checking is the deliveries. Companies are notorious for missing boxes and having them received in full, also drivers stealing shit. If they are not noting this amount missing, there is a bigger problem. Easiest way to increase profit is simple things. I managed a warehouse, I was amazed by some of the stunts/tricks people would use to steal. But you might be right, if the owner does not notice or want cameras, he probably does not care enough. Or thinks everyone underneath him is looking out for him. MTG, so does this mean your direct supervisor is his son? |

I don't care enough to link his threads about his divorce/custody battle/whatever else; but the dude has no problem consulting CP on all of life's most important matters. I just don't get it. Make your own calls. This place is most often not the solution for serious inquiries and explanations, true friendships aside. |

Just not enough for me to base serious decisions upon. Call me crazy. |
I'm beginning to think he is either a wimp that's afraid to get beat up by the thief or an attention whore. I wasn't a supervisor, but when freight was delivered, I had to sign for it. I looked over everything until I did. I'm thinking attention whore.

I cannot abide a ****ing thief. Snitches vary in degrees of douchebaggery depending on their circumstances, but there's absolutely no worth to a goddamn thief.
If Im working my ass off to provide for my family, and some asshole decides he's just going to help himself to the goods right in front of my face repeatedly and think that there aren't going to be consequences for that, he's got another thing coming. Dude obviously thinks you're a little bitch and aren't going to do shit about it. Otherwise, there's no way he would be so cavalier about stealing shit. If you choose to stand by and do nothing while some scumbag takes money from the owner of the business, whom you claim you like, well then maybe you are a little bitch after all. This guy is stealing from who you claim to be a good person, while implying that you're too big of a pussy to do anything about it by doing it in front of your face. ......and youre wondering how to handle this? I would take great pleasure in being the harbinger of this ****er's reckoning. |
MTG needs to write a book titled "Learning Things the Hard Way".

(But if it is, I vote with the people who said tell the owner). |
MTG works with Midnight Vulture?

So, has this asshole been arrested yet?

I mean, in a way we're all here for attention and validation of our thoughts and arguments; but this ****ing guy REALLY needs CP to figure out life stuff. I've asked a couple of people on here through PM's about some important stuff, but that's only because I legitimately think of them as friends and/or knowledgeable in my request. You can bet my personal life/career/problems are going to stay as far away from this place as possible, outside of actually having some friends on here on Facebook. But you gotta love the fact that we have questions and threads like this. It's what brings that special soap opera quality to CP. |
Thief's are pretty low!
|
WELL? What's the update? Too many GD threads these days with no resolution. /Sigh
|
Arent you supposed to be in jail for raging on someone?
No sense in snitching before going to the booty house.:D |
We need answers. A resolution. Something.

LOL
Great thread idea... "MTG in the movies" First post "Guys, I'm on these stairs, and one of my fellow soldiers is in the next room calling my name while a knife is being driven into his chest. Oh crap! The Nazi who killed him just walked past me and smiled. What should I do?" Next post "Came to visit my wife for Christmas. She's at some schmoozy Christmas party. While I was in her office relaxing from the flight an international gang of thieves took over the tower. Where should I hide?" Next "I just found out my brother has been conspiring with my rival. I let him know I know, and gave him a kiss...but I'm worried our relationship may be harmed. Should I ask my mom about this? My heart is really broken." |
Is MTG the guy who fought some other Dad at his kids little league game?

Personally I would report the guy. If you are aware of the crimes being taken place, and the guy rats you out saying you knew he was taking stuff. And the police and/or your employer are able to pull up video evidence of that. Your ass is busted too my friend.
Then again, you allegedly broke a guys collar bone, exploded his spleen, and had him put on a respirator among other things. So what's a petty crime like this one? :bravo: |
I say crack the motha****a in the head, pop a cap through his achillies tendon, and ax him where the gatdam box of pencils "is at" (so you can put it back)?! Or be this guy!

I told the owner today to put a camera in the parking lot if he wants his loss to significantly decline. He just said thanks for the heads up. I have a strange feeling nothing will be done at all.

But if you tell him, he'll be able to start watching, and that'll give him what he needs to fire the guy. And the guy really should be fired. He's stealing. This I'm a manager at redlobster and we would never let on that anybody told of the person stealing and instead begin watching. It would be wrong to put the one snitching in an embarrassing or even dangerous position. Not to mention you cant fire somebody without any solid proof. We keep excellent track of our inventory and when time goes by(2 months or so) and lets say steaks or lobster tails start to go up missing we take steps to figure it out without anyone snitching. But more often than not the snitch plays a role in helping. I'll give you the most common situation at my store thru the yrs. We have at times 15 dishwashers in a whole, on a Friday night 5 are on. Now all these guys often argue amongst themselves and once in awhile the one most upset will turn on another who is possibly stealing. The upset person turns on the stealer telling us this person is stealing. So we begin to watch this person and in time usually at close we will see a closing dishwasher step out of the freezer with his coat on or gym bag in hand. Since we have the right to inspect his bag and with the knowledge we have from the snitch we wait to catch him red handed this of course is an automatic firing. Nobody knows but the manager staff and the snitch who did it more out of hatred for the guy than honor avoids any embarrassment or danger. I'm not picking on our dishwashers either you can substitute dishwasher with cook, wait staff. bartender its all the same someone gets upset and snitches to us. The inmates take care of the Jail Of course theres no stopping stealing completely our store has 125 employees. As I type this at home I know full well there are wait staff walking out with sugar packets to coffee its the nature of the beast. At meetings and such we try to remind employees stealing from work is NO different than stealing from a grocery store. Sadly this Friday I have to run a full staff meeting on a different subject that's gotten out of control. Good old sexual harassment. Time to remind people exactly what it is, its getting pretty relaxed in our store again some girls are not liking it. A simple reminder is would you say that to so and so waitress if your wife was standing here... Anyhow sorry to jump to another subject. But stealing is stealing Here at my store we often rely on the inmates taking care of the jail...it works. The camera ideas not bad even a fake camera can help a lot. Real cameras are Extremely expensive to put throughout a redlobster..a few have them but most do not. You did the right thing even if you didn't lay it all out on the table for the owner. |
