Their WRs are not great? Kendall Wright, Justin Hunter, Nate Washington and now McCluster. Moncrief was not a need.

McCluster is a RB for them. Those other guys have not impressed.
He was the BPA for a team that doesn't have a huge need at any one spot. Any QB, CB, or RB (Tre Mason is not the kind of RB they want) would be a huge reach right here.

OldSchool 04-14-2014 05:41 PM

Damn, was hoping Moncrief would last longer than that, haha. Not sure where he fits in Tenn. though.

Chief Roundup 04-14-2014 05:44 PM

Nate Washington will be 31 years old when the season starts.

Watkins, Matthews, and Austin... Bradford sure wouldn't have any excuses at that point.

Well, Detroit needs some more help on defense so I"m going to give it to them with a new stalwart on the defensive line...

Detroit really needs a good LDE to complete that front, which is where Crichton will be at his best. It made perfect sense haha.

chiefscafan 04-14-2014 06:36 PM

I have my pick I can't believe he is still available may not fit the team but gives team three pass rushers.

The Baltimore Ravens select Morgan Moses, OT, UVA.

What's better than one tackle from Virginia? Two tackles from Virginia. Oher has moved on and Monroe is their LT and after that not much else is left on the Ravens roster at the tackle position.

Discuss Thrower 04-15-2014 01:15 AM

It's a tale of two quarterbacks for a franchise in the city with two NFL teams. Even though both incumbent and challenger have publicly stated their roles on the roster as of now, there are all the makings of a big controversy in the Big Apple for Gang Green.

That being said, there's one that both the pro-Geno or pro-Vick sides can agree on: the Jets have to improve on the offensive side of the ball from their dismal 2013 season. Selecting Brandin Cooks in the 1st round is but one ingredient in what John Idzik hopes to be a salve to the team's scoring woes.

Having a capable pass catcher at the tight end will do a lot to give Geno Smith or Michael Vick help through the air, though edge protection in the pocket might hit or miss for the short term but a balanced and bona fide #1 tight end fixture for the long term.

In the second round, the NY Jets select Troy Niklas, tight end, Notre Dame.

kccrow 04-15-2014 04:46 PM

The Dolphins barely made a dent in fixing their offensive line woes in the offseason, so they'll have to address the right side relatively early.

The Miami Dolphins select

Cyrus Kouandjio - OT - Alabama

Green Bay needs some Immediate Help in their Secondary, especially at the Safety Position. The Packers select....Deone Bucannon, S, Washington State.

sfchief 04-15-2014 09:45 PM

The Eagles select:

Keith McGill CB/S Utah

Big corner who can play like a safety(cover TE's).

Size doesn't matter!

Cincinnati Bengals select Lamarcus Joyner, CB, Florida State

OldSchool 04-15-2014 11:11 PM

The San Francisco 49ers select:

Davante Adams, WR, Fresno State

http://media.fresnobee.com/smedia/20...LNc.AuSt.8.jpg

Adams is the future replacement for Boldin once Boldin either retires or leaves the team. He has good size and strong hands with the ability to jump and catch passes over anyone. Adams is still pretty raw but he has a lot of ability to work with.

The San Diego Chargers select:

Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State

http://media.independentmail.com/med...tH007_t607.JPG

Benjamin's slide stops here as the Chargers decide to take a gamble on the big-bodied WR here in the 2nd round. I hate him as a prospect but the Chargers think that the value is too good to pass up on at this point and it wouldn't hurt to give Rivers a new big-bodied WR to throw to. Benjamin has 1st round talent with a bunch of red flags, the Chargers hope that they can maximize his talent and pair him up with Keenan Allen for years to come.

With the 60th overall pick the Carolina Panthers select:
JuWann James OT Tennessee
https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/i...yJL_TYcfeDY_OI

OldSchool 04-16-2014 08:21 PM

With the 61st pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select:

Martavis Bryant, WR, Clemson

http://turnonthejets.com/wp-content/...OC-Article.jpg

Yes, the 49ers take WRs back to back in the 2014 NFL draft. There is no guarantee that they will be able to re-sign Michael Crabtree and Boldin isn't a long term answer. The only good young prospect they currently have on the roster is Patton. Bringing in both Adams and now Bryant gives them absolutely no excuse for having an anemic passing game like they did last season (though I would blame that problem on the QB's inability to read defenses, anticipate routes etc, and play from the pocket more than on the "lack of weapons"). Bryant gives them the deep threat that they lacked outside of Vernon Davis last year.

Pest is now up.

The Franchise 04-16-2014 10:11 PM

The New England Patriots select Weston Richburg, C, Colorado State

kccrow 04-16-2014 10:37 PM

The Broncos will have to consider strongly more upgrades defensively. I don't think they'll want to go into the season set at CB.

The Broncos select:

Phillip Gaines - CB - Rice

blazzin311 04-16-2014 10:52 PM

The Seahawks lost some pretty good Corners this Offseason in Free Agency. They look to replace some of what was lost, with this pick. The Seattle Seahawks select....Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska. This guy is a great Athlete chalked full of Potential. Seattle now has another big Corner to pair with Richard Sherman.

OldSchool 04-16-2014 10:58 PM

The Texans safeties make up a giant big bowl of diarrhea-flavored ice cream. With a light puke syrup drizzle.

It does suck that Brooks just went a few picks before the Texans, though, and I think they can still find some okay players in the same playing range later on that they would have to force themselves into drafting right now.

Getting this guy is going to help Derek Carr out a ton, because Garrett Graham is a pussy that should not be trusted alone.

The Houston Texans select CJ Fiedorowicz, TE, Iowa

With the 68th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select:

Jaylen Watkins, DB, Florida

http://flapreps.com/wp-content/uploa...en-Watkins.jpg

While it would have been ideal to take a safety early in the draft, at this point there is not one worth selecting in the 3rd round for the Falcons so they take what many believe as the CB with greatest pro potential out of the Florida CBs. Watkins, like his brother, is a smooth and gifted athlete who has the ability and potential to become a top cover corner. He was the best corner at the Senior Bowl and can immediately contribute as the 3rd corner in Atlanta to help improve a passing defense that gave up 31 passing TDs last season.

Although they signed Donte they still need a FS to pair with him. Felt like safety was important at this point because there are only bout four real FS then talent drops.
