Well if Duffy is going to hit somebody, might as well be a guy loaded up on Roids.

alnorth 04-30-2014 07:50 PM

Pretty clear that Yost has no confidence in Duffy.

Neither do I

MeatRock 04-30-2014 07:50 PM

**** Duffy! Comes in and hits and walks the first 2 batters. **** him.

Great Expectations 04-30-2014 07:50 PM

Is Ventura on a strict pitch count?

Why not let him get to 110?

gblowfish 04-30-2014 07:50 PM

Seitzer is the Jays hitting coach?

That's pretty cool. Glad he got a job, even if he had to leave the country to find one.

What has Duffy done to give anyone any confidence? As Crow serves up ball #1

Yeah. Better to not be in a race and save him for nothing.

chiefsfan987 04-30-2014 07:52 PM

I don't really see the upside of Duffy that a lot of people do. He doesn't suck even though his last two performances have been underwellming. The problem I have with him is that his emotions always gets the best of him and he wears them on his sleeve.

He probably is, and he's so young that he probably needs to be until we're sure he can throw fire into high pitchcounts without injury.

We haven't verified that he's Nolan Ryan just yet.

lewdog 04-30-2014 07:52 PM

So is Duffy's control issue on Ned?

I'm seriously confused right now. Did he or did he not single handedly cost us the game last time? Did he or did he not put us in a VERY bad position today? He's been terrible.

DeezNutz 04-30-2014 07:57 PM

Terrible pitch selection on the call from Sal. Just ****ing terrible. Yes, the ball has to be higher, but the team needs a K or DP in that situation. Breaking ball down, dipshit.

Dragonocho 04-30-2014 07:57 PM

Mental note: if your pitcher leaves baseball for the priesthood, cautiously review where and when you bring him back.

Last time Yost left Ventura in too long. Now he took him out too early.

Either way, the bullpen has to deliver. It's not like Ventura was going 9. At some point these guys have to play like their head isn't 12 miles up their rectal cavity.

The low temps usually helps stamina. If it was 100 degrees this would have made more sense.

Salvy called for the ball up. I put some of the blame on Salvy. Crows slider was striking ****ers out. Even then a low strike could have induced a double play.

Yes Crow could have called Salvy to the mound but he trusts his all star catcher.

stonedstooge 04-30-2014 08:02 PM

Hud questioning it makes me wonder if he wanted out. Hell they film what goes on in the dugouts between innings

Will Hutchison go 8? It'd be nice to get to their pen.

There's truth here. But I'd have let him go with someone playing catch in the pen to start the inning, just in case he'd need to get hot quickly.

I think Ventura should've stayed in... but it probably doesn't matter. Duffy would've just started the 7th instead of the 6th. Maybe that would've made a difference, I don't know.

Might not have. Impossible to say whether the self-defecation was avoidable or not.
