C3HIEF3S 07-13-2015 08:32 PM

I didn't think I'd like this new format.

I'm pleasantly surprised

tk13 07-13-2015 08:33 PM

That was fun.

Discuss Thrower 07-13-2015 08:33 PM

kysirsoze 07-13-2015 08:33 PM

That could have been Billy. :sulk:

Great Expectations 07-13-2015 08:34 PM

I didn't like this format at first, but it has been a lot better.

C3HIEF3S 07-13-2015 08:34 PM

Good job, MLB.

Thank you for providing. See you all for the ASG.

ChiTown 07-13-2015 08:35 PM

That shit was FUN FUN FUN to watch. That new format is pure win. Awesome!

Hootie 07-13-2015 08:36 PM

Don't think MLB is ever gonna change that format. Fantastic. Now, let's get rid of this awful home field ASG winner crap

POND_OF_RED 07-13-2015 08:36 PM

Nicely done MLB. That was a lot of fun. Couldn't have scripted it any better

Three7s 07-13-2015 09:02 PM

Normally, I never watch the Derby, but this was pretty awesome.

rockymtnchief 07-13-2015 09:09 PM

I used to watch Frazier play in the rookie league here (Billings Mustangs). Glad to see him pull it out!

Keep tweaking. Make extra time for longer hits than the current level. Bonus time for 450 yards. Cut the time down in the first round so they don't get tired and hit bombs later.

Guess I should have stuck with it. The Duke and Sands of Iwo Jima was on.

KChiefs1 07-13-2015 10:00 PM

I actually watched the whole thing this year...never done that before.

You disagree? That's halfway across the Ohio River, no question they should get a bonus for that.

This. My wife actually turned it on when it started and I was laughing at her for watching. Then, one hour into it, and she's fetching me beers. :D. That was a great event, minus all the mouth garbage from Chris Berman. Geezus, that phuchwad is annoying!

Strongside 07-14-2015 09:07 AM

That was the best Derby I've ever seen. New format kicks ass.

Maybe baseball is figuring out that they need to change a few things to grow this sport. And that's good news.

The Franchise 07-14-2015 09:56 AM

For anyone who missed it last night.

A heartwarming moment was probably dead last on the list of things you might expect from the Home Run Derby, but Albert Pujols gave us just that on Monday night. After losing to Dodgers rookie Joc Pederson, the Angels veteran hugged the man who just bested him, then made sure Champ Pederson (Joc's older brother) got a hug too.

Champ has Down syndrome and Pujols is his favorite player. Earlier this year, Pujols gave him a signed jersey and the two have become fast friends. This was a truly great moment.

Nice to see my hometown represented and family I know win the HR derby.

I'll probably see Charlie this weekend down at TRELL

best part of the night ... I spent many years of my life hating Pujols (in a respectful way), but I must say, he made me a fan last night

Just awesome.

kcxiv 07-14-2015 03:03 PM

Just look at the smile on joc as albert picks up his brother! That's just pure being happy right there for his "big bro" lol It was awesome.
