With the Royals rise back, baseball has my attention as my sport now. I gave up my Chiefs season tickets after having them 10 years. Would much rather go to a MLB game on both sides of the state over NFL. Baseball games are so much more enjoyable to attend.

YOU KNOW YOU LOVE THE DAN LEBATARD SHOW!!!! WITH STUGOTZ!!!!

Hearing this little jingle about his show repeatedly is a far worse hell.

A lot of people identify themselves with the team, and attach personal worth to the success of the team. Therefore, when someone criticizes their team they aren't just talking shit about a sports franchise--it's a personal insult. I believe that is why so many are unwilling to make hard, objective observations about the status of their favorite teams, because to admit that they are substandard is to admit one's own failings.

If you're a kid or in your 20's, I understand living and dying with the team to an extent. But once you're an adult, a real adult, you've got real world shit to deal with, and spilling so much emotion and time into an entertainment product is probably a losing proposition, especially if you look at the kind of product the Chiefs have offered to their customers.

If the Patriots, Broncos, and Packers are Wal-Mart or Costco, the Chiefs are Pamida.

Absolutely nailed it.

I call them "losers".

Some of those people are so young that they just haven't lived it. I would imagine the majority of the people on this board lived through the 90's and have experienced it enough.

I experienced the 90's as a kid and it didn't quite resonate but it's just recently kicked me. I bought into Andy bc he was a successful coach and thought this would be different.

I still believe in him but only if he gets rid of Alex and gets a real QB. I'm broken

And some of them are so old, my age even, and they spent the last 3 weeks hopping around the board, tailing people who dared even raise to the idea that Alex Smith was shit, and Andy a post-season loser, incessantly flapping their raging vagina lips, spouting nonsense about Alex Smith being a "franchise QB", even.

And they can straight go get ****ed, as it pleases me to no end to see their absurd sand castle come crashing down to the ground around them.

****ing idiots.

I'd rep you if my iPad would let me.

The thing I absolutely don't understand is why the **** the front office doesn't draft a new shiny QB toy for all the homers to drool over. Hell my chiefs moral would soar if we took a promising QB in the 1st round. Even if he crashes and burns at least we ****ing tried. And least I could dream and hope for a QB that could break it off in the other teams ass. It would be so glorious.

Me at the end of the 90s: Man I'm stick of Shottenheimer, I'm stick of one and done.

Me at the end of the 00s: Well at least we made the playoffs a lot under Marty and had some exciting regular season wins. I'd take Marty over this crap.

Me now: FML

To be fair;

that draft was utter cancer.

The best players taken in the first round of that draft are Travis Frederick, Xavier Rhodes, Sheldon Richardson, DeAndre Hopkins, and Ziggy Ansah.

Just dreadful. Of course the Chiefs would get the first overall pick in a draft like that. A draft that did not have a SINGLE good QB in it.

Don't forget Desmond Trufant.

Buehler445 01-17-2017 07:48 AM

And don't forget Sheldon Richardson is a tire fire off the field.

Bufkin 01-17-2017 08:34 AM

And the fact of the matter is, Eric Fisher wasn't a bad pick given the circumstances. Guys like Sheldon Richardson, Xavier Rhoades, and Desmond Trufant weren't viable 1st overall picks at the time. Trading out of that pick was impossible, and the only other "elite" prospects qualified for the 1st overall pick (Luke Joeckel, Dee Miliner, Dion Jordan, Barkevious Mingo) have completely flamed out. Even if you concede that Eric Fisher is only a serviceable left tackle, he's still better than literally any other realistic option the Chiefs had.

Don't even get me started on the Geno Smith vitriol that was going on around here. Posters on here were flat out nasty against those who rightfully thought Geno would be a bust. I was halfway trolling when I posted that Matt Barkley would end up being a better pro than Geno Smith, and I was neg repped so bad that my red bar nearly went off the screen. In hindsight, it's pretty hysterical that I was right. In all of their shittiness, Matt Barkley is STILL less shitty than Geno Smith.

St. Patty's Fire 01-17-2017 08:38 AM

^Oh, I completely agree. Richardson was the highest pick of the bunch I listed I believe, at 13th overall. The top ten as a whole is awful.
