R8RFAN 05-04-2018 05:08 PM

And just where the hell do you get so much confidence from? You basically have a rookie starting next year at QB...

Not saying Mahomeboy hasn't got the talent to play in the NFL but it's a pretty damn sharp learning curve... Cleveland has chosen many many QB's that haven't worked out, why are you all so sure you have struck gold? I mean damn, I can relate to high hopes, but you guys are seriously putting the cart before the horse.

Carr’s biggest flaw has nothing to do with offensive scheme. The dude is a puss in the pocket. He’d rather throw it in the dirt five yards away before he ever stands in and potentially takes a hit that he can see coming. I said this during his rookie year and it honestly hasn’t improved, he just had a tremendous line there for a bit during ‘15/‘16 that allowed him to sit in the pocket for 5 seconds a pop.

jjchieffan 05-04-2018 06:33 PM

The story read that DJ would be upgrading the LB corps for the Fade. How sad is that? He not good enough to make the Chiefs even as a backup, but he's an upgrade for the Fade. LMAO

pugsnotdrugs19 05-04-2018 06:34 PM

And if you don’t believe me, just think about his struggles vs. Kansas City. A team that plays primarily man to man coverage—they force him to typically wait a little longer to hit an open man. He looks particularly shook by our defense because we usually have been given that extra second to get to him in the pocket with the M2M coverage.

The thing about dj was that he was always too upright of a player for my taste

Loved his attitude and interviews. I even met him at the pool once and he was very nice.

I think the chiefs were too upright at safety with McGraw and mlb with dj

I actually like that we drafted shorter squatty players with the most recent draft.

I strongly think we lacked agility at certain defensive positions.

Eleazar 05-05-2018 10:30 PM

If there's anything left in his tank at all, we're better off giving the roster spot and snaps to a developing player.

If you're the Raiders, pretty much anybody willing to sign with you is going to be an upgrade, so I think this is good for both teams.

TomBarndtsTwin 05-05-2018 10:55 PM

The Chiefs cut him. DJ wasn’t done playing football yet and wanted to make some more money. The Raiders have made a whole off season of signing aging, OTH, broke-dick players to their roster. I like DJ, but he’s not the same guy he was a couple years ago. This won’t hurt the Chiefs at all.

As long as he doesn’t decide to be a little bitch about it, the way JC was, I’m fine with it. Literally, zero shits given. He’ll be back soon one day to enter the Ring of Fame and no one
will care. The Faiders aren’t doing dick this year, with or without him.

Beef Supreme 05-06-2018 02:53 AM

Gruden signing all these old wily vets who think they got something left in the tank and something left to prove. It's a crazy strategy that I think is going to fail in a bad way, but wouldn't it be something if he can make it work.

I mean he has to believe his own bullshit, right? Everybody is looking at him scratching their heads, but he is thinking he is some evil genius. I dunno. Seems batshit crazy to me. If he pulls it off, they'll be making movies about it.

Chargem 05-06-2018 03:54 AM

There's a slight risk that DJ's slowness this last year was due to the injury and not his age, and that he looks better in 2018, but I doubt it.

It probably makes sense that a lot of these guys end up in the division, division rivals are the ones seeing their play more.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Chucky was already the Raiders coach at the time of him calling this game. DJ has lost a step or two for sure, but this, in his last game played says he can make a play or two every once in a while. Don't love that he is a Raider.

I wonder if DJ has any hard feelings over the contract given to Hitchens? The Chiefs paid DJ just over $50 million over his 13 year career. His replacement is getting $45 million over just 5 years. That just doesn't seem right to me. Hitchens may never be half the LB that DJ was.

I definitely think this is part of it.

It’s also been reported in the past that DJ made concessions on his contract to help the Chiefs with the salary cap. DJ was definitely a team first guy.
