Last night when the fronts collided just west of Des Moines, it was 58 here. Probably the biggest reason we didn't get much because we were on the backside of the action. But 40 miles to the south, it was over 80.

They just missed where the front would set. If it was 100 miles further north it would have been out of the south it would have been the ****ing disaster they called for.

Thank god they missed the wind.

Yet again, I'm checking in and bitching about the weather here.

Woke up yesterday morning at 5am to hail and wind and my weather radio going off full blast.

Then another round of severe storms last night after 10. JUST as I was getting ready to say "**** it, it's just hail" and go to bed - bam, tornado warning.

I finally got to bed after one and woke up to thunder at 5am again.

Saturday is was over 80 and woke up Sunday morning to snow.

At our house, just a lot of tree damage, car dents, and holes in the siding. Just to the east of us in Grinnell, there was a ton of wind and hail damage.

I guess there's video circulating on social media of people in the Grinnell Walmart getting showered with shards of glass as the hail came straight through the skylights.

Did someone run the ball shagger and pick up the hail? Weird. LMAO

Greasy's...I mean...Casey's...pizza is sometimes good but not often. Most of the time, you need to ask for paper towels to soak up all the grease.

To Timmer's credit, their breakfast pizza is awesome.

You say that like it's a bad thing. You're not properly Midwest living until you're shitting out pure liquid.

srvy 05-10-2023 04:01 PM

Honestly, if you bake sausage pepperoni salami hamburger, and various kinds of cheese at 700 + degrees fats going to render out. The pizza that doesn't pool grease or saturate the box is a pizza I am not interested in eating. It's probably veggie with fat-free cheese and cauliflower crust. I don't eat a lot of pizza but when I do it's good and greasy.

There was always one week in Iowa. Drving from Story City to Union for work.
Damp-the road covered in worms. It was very slick.

Yeah, pepperoni is the worst. I eat pepperoni like the real stuff but the stuff they put on pizzas is straight up poison.

Anyone tried the weawow weather app? It has a free no ad version and uses NWS data.

The only part I don’t love about it is the radar. It’s decent but not as good as actual NWS radar.
