Hail to the Chief plays again, and the crowd stands up for an ovation.
Former President and Liberator of Europe Dwight D. Eisenhower takes the stage. https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/...1000_QL80_.jpg He acknowledges the ovation, and then gets right down to business. "We learned in World War II a valuable lesson, and it still applies today. To secure victory, you must take the war to the enemy and you must seize their capital and their resources. In football, that means that you have to relentlessly pursue the quarterback. When the quarterback goes down, the enemy's war effort stops. In order to pursue that aim... "The Washington Commanders select Chris Braswell, DE, Alabama." He points to a map. "Now let's go take the war to those b*****ds in Dallas and Philadelphia and New York." https://www.politico.com/dims4/defau...wer-ap-773.jpg |
You can accuse me of only drafting players on the CP drafturbator radar, but this is honestly a good spot for him. Sooooo....
Green Bay selects Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia |

Latham would have been an even easier decision if the Brown news dropped ~6 hours earlier. |

Reviewing the 1st round, I think the ordering is a little unrealistic but there are maybe only 2 guys that I think probably aren't likely to be first rounders in there.
I think both JPJ and Latham go much earlier, Barton might be a first rounder too. I can basically see there being an acceptable tackle OR WR prospect there for the Chiefs at 32 though, based on this. I think we could be screaming for a small trade up on draft night to get to ~27 or somewhere around there |
Well this pick was just traded and I'm assuming it was traded for the same intentions I'm using to make this pick. To get a QB.
I've gone back and forth on taking Bo Nix or Michael Penix Jr. here. After weighing them against each other, I'm going with the guy I think can better hit the intermediate and deep routes that will keep Justin Jefferson happy...and also a guy who is used to wearing purple. If he ends up getting hurt, then at least I didn't spend a first on him. Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington |
I'm gonna really need some pass rush help this year. I like how my offense is set up, so here we go.
This may be a bit of an overdraft but I'm banking traits. Adisa Isaac DE Penn State |
I'm not excited by this pick but the Raiders can't roll with what they have at QB. I gambled and thought I might juuust sneak Penix, but hey ho, was always a long shot.
Raiders select Bo Nix, QB, Oregon |

The NO Saints select Zach Frazier, C/G, West Virginia

These guys are gonna have a bit of a learning curve and the Raiders, in signing Minshew, are tacitly acknowledging that. Makes pick 32 a little more interesting with Nix and Pennix potentially being guys teams like but don't love enough to take in the top 15. |

The Indianapolis Colts select Xavier Legette, WR, South Carolina
WR is really only the position of needs for the Colts on O. Pittman is great but Pierce is pretty much just a guy. |
The New York Giants select Troy Franklin, WR, Oregon
|
Was eyeballing Suamataia & Legette, but happy with Sanders and Franklin.
|
Wow, I was targetting Franklin or Legette for the Jags to replace Ridley lol.

https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/i...iRVE33Cnc9t9WR "Whether you opt for Cincinnati or just Cinnati, the Bengals' intention is clear. They need to move forward, to make progress. And to accomplish that, the football wisdom of the 16th century says that you need a running back. "The Cincinnati Bengals select Jonathan Brooks, RB, Texas." "And now onto double naming again. We'll start with the BB, of BB gun fame. The BB is named based on the size of the bearing. The spherical projectile was originally a piece of lead shot from a shotgun, and different sizes of shot were available. The inventor of the BB gun, William F. Markham, decided to use 0.180-inch lead shotgun birdshot as ammo for his new firearm. In the nomenclature of the time, this was known as a BB shot size, as opposed to the next larger and smaller sizes, which were known as sizes B and BBB. With a minor decision change, we could have ended up firing B guns or BBB guns. The original BBs were made of lead, which eventually transitioned to steel. "What you see below is not Ganymede or Callisto, but rather a BB, as spherical as the planets that cross our night sky." https://www.pyramydair.com/images/ar.../headed-bb.jpg |
The Bengals are hoping that Brooks comes back strong from his knee injury. Having traded away Joe Mixon, we have a pretty unproven running back room, so it felt necessary to take a highly rated prospect early. (Zack Moss is here now as a veteran presence, but we can use more firepower.)
|
The Philadelphia Eagles select Edgerrin Cooper, LB, Texas A&M
Howie and Co are happy to get the draft's top linebacker at #50 to help a group that has been rough for a while now. |
Quote:
I'll get my pick in tonight, but picks 45-50 wiped out my big board. Need to evaluate after dinner! |
After having their preferred center snatched at #45, LB at #50, and remaining WRs with round 2 grades in between… the Steelers continue to follow their proven template investing in defensive BPA (which also happens to be at a moderate position of need).
The Pittsburgh Steelers select Tyler Nubin, S, Minnesota Nubin gives the Steelers a long term answer alongside Minkah Fitzpatrick. |
****OFFICIAL 2024 Saccopoo CP Mock Draft Thread****
*I have had this queued up for hours ready to rock hoping my guy was still there*
Les sneed wipes his tears with the 30+ million dollars saved from legendary Aaron Donald retiring. As a tear rolls down his eye, he whispers into the conference call phone “**** them picks”. A voice answers authoritatively, “NO, you have to make a pick here! We cant trade for any more ****ing thirty year olds!” “Fine, make the call” sneed replies, as his tear drops onto an oak desk of the dimly lit war room. A candle with the number 99 embossed on it lights up the table under the tv with live draft coverage on NFL network. Some asshole that the current rams front office doesnt know, because he played for the rams when they were in St. Louis approaches the podium. “With the 52th pick in the 2023, 4, 2024 NFL draft, the saint, er, Los angeles Rams select Ruke Orhorhoro, DT Clemson.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I would have definitely invited Scooby Doo or the Jetsons' Astro to announce the Ruke Orhorhoro pick.
|
The Eagles have hemmed and hawed a while on this pick because there is a 1st round pick sitting on the board but also a couple of other guys that would make a boatload of sense here... Despite some other more pressing needs given our 1st round pick, we're going to take the top talent and load our secondary for the future. This was my pick B that I sent to staylor at pick 22.
The Philadelphia Eagles select Kamari Lassiter, CB, Georgia |
Going to be honest here... if the Eagles actually get Nate Wiggins, Kamari Lassiter, and Edgerrin Cooper, I'm going to be really, really ****ing pissed. That's 3 guys that can start day 1 and address their biggest holes. FML.

For some reason I thought I only had the Titans but **** it give me a few mins I'll make a pick for the Browns

Cleveland Browns select Braden Fiske, DT, Florida State

The Miami Dolphins select T'Vondre Sweat DT, Texas

Late here but I’d 100% take Latham. Great pick.
Probably not realistic though unfortunately |
Cowboys select Cedric gray LB North Carolina
|
Can someone pm next guy up
|
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Cooper Beebe, G, KSU
IOL is a big need for the Bucs and they are happy Beebe fell to them. |
Wanted to take a guy that would have gotten boos from the crowd, but I'll suppose I'll just be boring and responsible instead.
Green Bay selects Junior Colson, LB, Michigan |
Houston selects:
Graham Barton, IOL, Duke |

ntexascardfan sent me one other possible pick earlier, but it was Beebee, who's also been taken.
I'm sure he'll be back tomorrow early to pick again. |

With the 60th overall pick the Buffalo Bills select Bralen Trice, Edge, Washington.
|
DET Lions select Payton Wilson, LB, NC ST.
|
Baltimore Ravens select Christian Haynes, G, Conneticut
|
This has fallen quite nicely for the Chiefs again, there are at least 2 options I would be happy with here after the 49ers pick
|
I’m on mobile (on vacay with the fam), but pretend I kept my Kyle Shanahan = Kendal Roy shtick going here. Something something not as good as daddy something something nepo baby.
The 49ers select Adisa Isaac, DE, Penn State. Something something “edge rusher” is a stupid term that should be taken out into a field and made an example of, like a Mexican cartel making an example of a snitch or traitor. As an abbreviation, it also is stupid, as it is a whopping one character shorter that DE/OLB and teams have schemes to boot that make it clear whether they’re a DE or OLB. |

If he's good enough to take at 44. If you're happy to take him in the early 2nd, you should probably be willing to give a 3rd rounder and take him in the 1st. Especially if learning curve, not raw ability, is your concern. |

I'm going to give duncan a little bit of time to change his pick before I do.
|
Ok, I'm going to assume Duncan might be a while since he's on vacay.
The 49ers select Marshawn Kneeland, EDGE, Western Michigan Trying to stick with the same position, since Kneeland would also be a great value at the end of the 2nd. Chargem is on the clock. If Duncan returns before then, he can change this pick. Once Chargem has picked, we move on. |
Pick a future Hall of Famer, chargem. Do it.

Now if you're the Raiders and your position is "hey, that's a problem for 4 years from now; meanwhile I need that 3rd rounder to fix problems I have right this very second..." then I get it. But man, QBs are just so damn expensive. There's the possibility of that 5th year option have $10-$20 million in surplus value. It'd be an interesting study really - what's the 'cash value' of a 3rd round pick on average. And what's the cash value of the average 5th year option season? |

My board has a few WR on it here, just taking the one I like best.
Your Kansas City Chiefs select Jermaine Burton, WR, Alabama |
Nice. There's one other WR I have above Burton available, but I would be happy with either guy at 64 after having Latham fall into our lap.
|
Quote:
|
The Carolina Panthers select Dominick Puni, G, Kansas
|
The Arizona Cardinals select Ricky Pearsall, WR, Florida
Even after adding the best player in the draft in Marvin Harrison Jr., the Cardinals still need more help at WR. They have other needs as well, but I just can't pass up on Pearsall here, who would compliment Harrison and Michael Wilson very well. |
The Commanders' war room is in a meeting right now, but will make their selection as soon as feasible. It may be a few hours.
|
Two picks from Alabama? Calm it down, ChiefsCAfan.

Kneeland would have been my alternative there, anyway. Thanks and sorry gang. |

The familiar strains of Hail to the Chief ring out, and onto the stage walks a man in 1820s garb and huge muttonchop sideburns.
"Hello, fellow Americans," he says. "I am former president John Quincy Adams, and I'm here to make an argument for a federal government expedition to the center of the earth." https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...Photo_Crop.jpg "But first, I have to draft a soldier into the heart of the Washington Army, more specifically the Commander Corps. With that, I will proclaim that ... "The Washington Commanders select Autin Booker, DE, Kansas." On that hot mic, he can be heard asking, "Where is Kansas? Is that a new territory or something?" |
President Quincy Adams dispatches a man on a horse to notify New England of their pick. This is easy to do since he's from Massachusetts and knows all of the best horsemen.
