I'm still stuck in lower back hell. I'll be getting a functional orthotic shoe insert in about a week.

I doubt those will help much. I think time is your friend buddy. Take it easy on yourself.

Hopefully you can kick this quickly.

Well, I'm just doing what the doc says to do. I've been at it for 2 months already. I'm ready to be done with this. I'm about to hit $2k in PT bills. I'm afraid its too late for "quickly."

I hope you still aren't going to a PT if it isn't working. Take the stuff you have learned from them and do it yourself and avoid the bills and them soaking you more money to tell you the same thing over and over.

Luckily, my back didn't turn out to be a big deal. Back to 365 on my heaviest set for deads.

Also, whoever suggested doing deads/squats at the front end of my workout: this was brilliant. For some reason, it makes it so much easier to do. I do both of those while I'm fresh, and I've found it much easier to get "up" for these lifts now.

Why would you ever think doing two of the hardest lifts at the end of a workout would be smart? lol

Glad someone got your head on straight!

Well, I was actually coming in and doing bench first, because I looked forward to doing bench and used it as a measure of my progress. Then the rest of the workout was sort of mentally anti-climactic. Now, I save the bench for after the deads and squats. Anyway, I'm sure there's a physiological component as well, but, mentally, it's just been much better for me. I found myself feeling bored with deads and squats and cutting off entire sets on some workouts because I was just ready to get done. Now, I never feel like shaving anything off of those.

I'm still going, but it has been a progression and not a bunch of repeats.

I have read lots of people suggesting to do at least a couple of sets of squats before Bench even if it is not a normal leg day. the idea is that is gets your T flowing so you can have an extra edge when you bench.

Well, I have some $310 custom orthotics in my shoes right now. I know it kinda shits in the face of everything I've been learning about barefoot running, but this has been miserable. Let's hope I can get back to doing things soon.

I'd love to see some hard science on this.

For your back, right?

Hopefully it helps. Chiropractors talk about it a lot.

They've helped my plantar faciitis. Well, at least it is not getting worse.
