Romeo had the best season in the history of that franchise. I certainly don't count the old Browns. They're now in Baltimore. The new Browns franchise is the only things keeping everyone from laughing too hard at what Cincy has done in the last decade.

I'm hoping that since he has been removed from HC he might have been able to sit back and figure out some things he would like to have done differently, and hopefully he came to the right conclusions. I'm guessing he'll call the D, so it'll be a matter of the QB situation and the OC.

I believe the only two times Pioli has traded up to take a player it was a TE (O'Connell, Moeaki).

Hi, six years ago.

I thought he traded up for Dex because the Eagles wanted to draft him...?

No kidding.

How quickly people forget the Raiders game... the one game during Romeo's interim tenure, that had the most at stake since the Chiefs were still very much alive for the playoffs and Romeo blew it. (technically they were alive for the playoffs in the Green Bay game, but since no one gave the Chiefs a chance in hell at winning that game, Romeo was playing with house money).

That Raiders game was filled with bad clock management (remember the end of the first half), penalties, etc. That falls back on the head coach.

Butch Davis took the Browns to the playoffs, Romeo didn't. I would say that 2002 season under Butch was the best season since their relaunch, even though they won one less game in the regular season that Romeo's 2007 team.

Also keep in mind that Romeo's 10-6 team came against the NFC West/last place schedule... that same schedule has made other coaches look good as well (cough cough Todd Haley).

To be fair, it also had the best pairing of a defensive stand and two minute drill to close a 4th quarter I've seen in a while.

Savvy of the Raiders to take advantage of Lewis' wearying from it when it came to OT, though.

I don't blame him for that one too much, I mean our kicker had made a ton of kicks in a row and at the end of regulation he has another one blocked. It isn't like there are many blow out between us and the raiders...

Quest?

Chiefs owned mediocrity in the 90s. There is no quest. We are well versed.
