His only fully year of playing time was '11. Thus, this is, far and away, the more likely projection.

Landing him would be a coup.

Oh, go to hell Detroit. Our bullpen is better, and if our position players evolve, who knows.

They are owned by an ultra-rich deranged multi-billionaire who doesn't care about losing money.

No one actually lives in that rapidly-declining hellhole of a city.

law of averages says Frenchy wont have the abortion of a year he had last season. Lets just hope 2011 Hosmer returns and Salvy continues to evolve.

From your keyboard to God's ears. We really need for that to be true because he will be our RFer.

Mr. Laz 12-15-2012 06:20 AM

what about Lohse?

What about him? We've signed 3 FA pitchers this offseason and we're over budget. Do you really expect us to sign another?

edit... Sheilds/Davis weren't FA's. Still....

If we are going all in this year ... then go ALL IN.

We can do like the Marlins and trade them in a couple of years ... win or lose.

At least we would have a winning year every so often.

Yeah good luck with that. We've spent money, improved the starting staff, gone over budget (from what I can tell) and our core players are signed long term. If you guys think we're spending more this year you're on crack. This is our team. We'll win or lose with it.

Lohse is old, he doesn't strike anybody out, and he's a St. Louis/Dave Duncan success story.

Those guys TYPICALLY don't do so well once they leave St. Louis. He wants $75 million.

It's not simply a matter of saying "Hell No" to Kyle Lohse... it's a matter of saying "HELL NO" while sprinting in the opposite direction and firing over your shoulder as you do.

If Lohse signs with an AL team, he's going to get a colossal bust, IMO.

duncan_idaho 12-15-2012 09:25 AM

As for KC going "all-in"... I don't think there's anything wrong with sitting pat at this point. They've brought in four new starting candidates.

If they're in the thick of it around the trade deadline and have an opportunity to make a deal to improve the team, I think we'll see them take a shot at that.

Sure-Oz 12-15-2012 10:49 AM

I really hope Francouer can find something from 2011 this year

He will...for about six weeks. He'll get a three year extension before reverting back to his old smiling, sack-tapping, free swinging self.
