Yep. He might have kept him another year, though.

There's a Marcus Peters in almost every workplace. Someone who does a great job at one specific function, but all of the baggage and extra time make the management team wonder if they really need that person to succeed. I guess the answer was no in this case.

He wasn't going to play on a one year deal and KC wasn't going to pick up his 5th year option so..........

Probably not, IF things kept going as they were. All that you mentioned is based on things staying as is. You may be right and there is plenty of evidence to support things continuing to trend that way. However, I only trade him now if I got a # 1 plus a player. If that's too unrealistic, that's fine by me as it would have taken something pretty spectacular for me to have parted with the guy. If all I were going to get is what the Rams gave, I'd have passed and seen what happened. Maybe other things in the market may have developed which would warrant better compensation. We'll never know now.

That's probably a good way to look at it.

Belichick drafted Aaron Hernandez who had a red flag or two (or 20) coming out of Florida.

Yeah, Marcus Peters should have instead interrupted the sanctity of the National Anthem by yelling "Chiefs" towards the end of it.

****... Shut up already.

Belichick traded Richard Seymour, traded Jamie Collins, traded Chandler Jones and let Darrelle Revis walk.

Petro made a great point. Belichick is not about overpaying anyone. He stocks his roster full of quality deal guys or draft picks.

I like that Veach is taking that approach. His trades for Cam Erving and Reggie Ragland prove that.

Also the question needs to be asked... does Clark Hunt have a conflict of interest?

His role on the NFL's "Los Angeles Opportunities" Sub-Committee means that he is looking to maximize value for an NFL franchise in LA. Adding one of the best shutdown CB's in the NFL is part of that process.

Is Clark more invested in Los Angeles than with the Chiefs?

True Fans will hate the mere thought of that question, but it must be asked.

I agree he wouldn't have got himself to the place Reid was with Peters. When he told KC fans to **** off, he would have been cleaning restrooms with a toothbrush after his multi game unpaid suspension.

Cool. It almost seems like when you deal with guys of questionable character sometimes it backfires.

This is all on Marcus Peters, plain and simple.

You are 100% correct

It's easier to do that when you have the GOAT QB willing to play for under market value.
