I can honestly say that since my daughter's were born that I've never once thought "sure hope she isn't a lesbian". Before we knew we were having girls and they had the chance to be a boy....still never crossed my mind that I hoped he would turn out straight.

And I'm just going to say one more thing about the subject before I stick to football.

Every single dude in this thread would choose straight if they had to make a choice the day their son was born. Not a single dude on this forum would honestly choose gay. I don't believe that for a ****ing second.

I get what you're saying. It's not about being gay specifically, but your own kid going through the bullshit/ridicule/bullying/etc; and no parent would wish that on anyone or want to see their own kid go through it.

Do we think Caleb Williams sticks his ass up like a cat stretching at the bottom of the pile looking for a little extra contact?

This thread rules btw

It's not like being gay is the only thing that people get shit on for.

At the same time, that type of bullshit is less common today than it was when we were kids. Something like a third of gen Z identify as one of the alphabet soup of not straight these days.

Wow that's just an amazing ****ing point you have there.

Wearing ugly shoes for example is totally the same thing as being a feminine little boy that gets bullied into depression/suicice.

You really are this ****ing reeruned, huh?

People who are poor get bullied into depression.
People who aren't smart get bullied into depression.
Depending on where you live...people who aren't a certain religion get bullied into depression.

The list is endless. Maybe...just maybe....we should handle the whole "bullying" problem instead of putting the onus on the gay kid.

News flash:

I wouldn't want my kid to be pooor.

I wouldn't want my kid to be stupid.

Again, you really are this ****ing reeruned.

The pink lipgloss doesn't seem to be an issue. Interesting

Sure (and you're preaching to the choir on that)... and I think these days it's different, too. I don't know if being gay growing up is that much worse than all the other reasons kids get bullied.

IF there was a significantly higher chance of significant bullying/ridicule/bullshit for any given reason... then I wouldn't want my kid to have to go through that.

That's completely separate from how I'd raise the kid (I wouldn't coach them to be straight, for example) and there would be zero disappointment.... it would however suck to see them go through the bullshit.

Maybe because I have a kid with a lifelong condition....that I've never once worried about her sexual orientation and spent more time worrying about her health. Which of course she got bullied for.

So yet again...something that she couldn't control got her shit from other people.
