This could be good, Deep Rock Galactic was fun but as a Roguelite? Maybe even better

Looks sweet! I need something to pull me away from Helldivers.

Not sure if I posted about it but I got Madden 25 on sale for like $13 a couple months back.

This is my first Madden since 2020 with Mahomes so I’m having some fun with it.. wouldn’t say it’s a good game, though. Still tons of shit they’re not doing, not doing well, etc.

I played a little bit of Deep Rock Galactic because it was a free game for PS+ and it was well done. It's not really my thing but you could tell they put some effort into the game. I would probaby check that out if it comes to PS5

Picked up ASKA off of Steam. Going to play that with the misses after we finish Aloft. Has anyone given it a shot yet? It's a Viking survival/craft/management game in early access.

Playing Doom: The Dark Ages tonight, and had a nice fuzzy blast of nostalgia.

I've been playing FPS games since pretty much the beginning. My first experiences were Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Quake, etc. When these games were originally released, they by default had the movement buttons configured to use ESDF keys as opposed to using WASD keys that are the gaming standard now. For me, I never gave up that old ESDF config, and still use that to this day. It's a PIA because every game I play a game the first thing I have to do is switch the controls from WASD to ESDF and invert the vertical axis. When I tell younger people I use ESDF keys, they look at me like I'm straight reeruned.

Enter Doom: TDA. id has a complete keyboard and mouse preset that switches to the old school ESDF config.

I downloaded the beta Steam client for ChromeOS and found that a couple of my all-time faves - Rome:Total Ware and Total War: Medieval II will run on Linux (ChromeOS is Linux-based). Not only that but Steam honored the CD keys that came with the physical Windows copies I bought 2 decades ago so they didn't cost me anything extra.

Starting to Git Gud, I might have to check it out soon.

Do recommend. I need to hop back on that game sometime soon. Have a couple of hundred hrs into it, but most of it was from when it was released, and I haven't experienced all the new stuff.

I'm sitting at about 9 hours, always seems to be something I'm more into every time I start thinking of playing it. Cubic Odyssey launches tomorrow and it looks like what No Man's Sky Should have been at least Minecraft style. Played a lot of Minecraft with my son growing up so We'll be jumping into that Thursday.

I will eventually get around to playing it.

Does anyone play Kingdom Come Deliverance 2? I had someone tell me it's one of the best games ever.

THis launched today on Steam, I watched a couple of previews on it. Looked interesting, not sure when I might look at it again but some may like it.

Averno City, 1983. Gangs rule the streets and your father lies restless in his grave. Clean up the city, uncover the truth, and embark on thrilling vehicle chases through destructible environments in this neon-noir action sandbox police game.

Surprised my sons haven't begged me for Cubic Odyssey yet. They still play Minecraft a lot.

I never really got into No Man's Sky. No Man's Sky feels like it could be a spinoff of EVE Online but maybe that's off base. I played Astroneer, which is more of that cartoonish, voxel-based type. It was enjoyable for what it was, but nowhere near the involvement I've seen in looking at No Man's Sky.

I'm starting to get into more of these co-op type games now that I no longer run any servers. I dropped running Conan Exiles with AoC mod about 3 months ago, and the community also stopped hosting 7 Days to Die a couple of months ago. Those were the last remaining servers we had up. There has been talk of potentially re-launching 7 Days when they release 2.0 but I doubt I'll involve myself much in the admin of that.

No Man's Sky looks nice but it lacks any kind of real combat other than dogfighting. It just gets boring to me without Man vs baddies.

Made by a team of 4 people, looks impressive for what it is.

Doom: The Dark Ages is so much fun. I'm actually liking this more than Eternal....
