Mizzou was the best team during the noncon, the second best in conference, and the best on the postseason.

All the time. It usually happens with teams from lesser conferences with poor schedules, though.

There's been plenty of teams that played soft schedules that didn't. Utah State last year was an 11 seed with the exact record.

I don't think a 30 win team from a major conference has ever been anything other than a 1 seed.
