LMAO if you think your boy is in the same universe as Felix.

gblowfish 08-28-2011 07:30 PM

The Royals online store is still selling Greinke Royals jerseys, and wants $130 for them.
Crazy man, crazy!

Ok so he won a Cy so the return in a trade for Felix would be the same? Fail wha?

Zach was a headcase, no large market team wanted much to do with him at all. You can put the crackpipe down if you think you could land him for the shit the Brewers traded. He had one great season (and that looks to have been an outlier), how's he been since? Now I will eat a little crow and both pitchers numbers are similar, still with most everything leaning toward Felix if you pull Zachs career year its not close. Not Only is Felix 2 years younger has the better numbers but he is locked up for 3-4 more years. Ill dig a little more into the advanced pitching metrics tomorrow, but I have no doubt it will show Felix is the better pitcher.

I'd let the Dodgers name their price for Kershaw! I'd take either King Felix or Pineda from Seattle too.

Al Bundy 08-28-2011 10:01 PM

King Felix will take Eric Hosmer plus 3 or 4 high end prospects.

Greinke (career): 3.86 ERA, 7.9 K/9, 1.25 WHIP, 3.5 K/BB
Hernandez (career): 3.22 ERA, 8.2 K/9, 1.22 WHIP, 2.95 K/BB

Hernandez is definitely better, but I don't think they're as laughably far apart as you think.

Not argueing with you but Zack is nails again this year. He's 10-0 at home.

His contract aside.... anyone think we should be willing to part with Starling for a Hernandez/Kershaw type?

tk13 08-28-2011 10:57 PM

Zack will have a chance to shoot his value through the roof in the playoffs. Hard to believe it was a month ago and the Brewers were a half game behind the Pirates, now they're 18 games ahead of them.

Hard to argue against Felix for anything though, he's a beast. But even though he is two years younger, he actually does have more innings on his arm than Greinke.

We can't trade Starling until next summer, but I would definitely be interested in trading for Kershaw. I believe he has three years left under team control.

My initial offer: Wil Myers + Mike Montgomery + Brett Eibner + Jason Adam

Two top 25/50 overall prospects, and two prospects that will probably rank in the 5-10 range in our system.

Too much? Too little?

I'd say not quite enough, but its closer than some people are thinking.

By the way hosmer plus 4 top prospects would never happen, no team would ever be that stupid even the royals. Hosmer has more value by himself than felix being an everyday player with 6 years of control, IMO
