I doubt Grienke comes back, Sucks about Perez, hopefully he still is able to play defense well next year.

gblowfish 08-31-2011 03:36 PM

Grienke will NEVER come back to KC.... EVAH. The guys in the locker room don't like him.

There was nothing about Perez on the Royals website, they did talk about trading Treanor back to Texas for $$$. Good deal for Treanor, he has a shot at another WS playing for Texas.

Hope Perez is OK, that kid is going to be good if he can stay healthy.

Like who?
All the fantastic players that shared the roster when Greinke was here?

horshit I say. Zack was sick of losing and the team not ever making steps forward. I don't blame him for that. He's a weird kid, I'll grant you, but I think the resentment he felt for playing on a crap team is what you're talking about. Most of those crap players are gone now, and I guarantee that Hosmer, Moose, Escobar and company would be plenty glad to have a true frontline starter on the team.

Still haven't heard anything about Perez. Anyone got info?

Why would he leave Milwaukee? He's winning, playing for a contender, just moved there, etc.

Billy Butler basically said in the press Greinke was a pain in the ass last year. He wanted out after about two months. I'm glad he's gone, much rather have Escobar for the long run.

gblowfish 09-01-2011 11:53 AM

Paper this AM said Perez hurt his pinkie finger, they didn't think it would be a big deal, but he may not play today. We'll see. Hopefully its not much worse than that.

booyaf2 09-01-2011 12:01 PM

They just talked about it on the radio. Ryan said that it looked like his pinky finger was broken by the replay, but today saying that it is only a bruise. Should be back in 2-3 games.

Don't get me wrong, I'm quite happy with the players we got for the trade. I think it was time for Zack to go as he was clearly not happy.

I think Milwaukee's window is open, but will close fast. Zack's a free agent again after next year, isn't he? Which would be about the time we could expect KC to be opening its' window of contention.

Zack wants to play for a winner, and is comfortable in small market cities. We'd be an interesting spot for him to land. Probably not, but I think it would be interesting.

11-8 Good guys. Hosmer with another bomb.

Kansas City Bombers. Wouldn't it be something if the Royals had 5 guys w/ 20 hr each at seasons end? It's possible I suppose

Butler, Gordon, Francouer, Melky, Hosmer.

That would be a hell of a year for Hosmer after missing the first month or so of the season.

I'm loving what the core of this team is looking like. Some starting pitching and maybe a nother piece of two in the bullpen and we are rocking in 2012.

If Milwaukee does keep Greinke, they won't be contenders.

No way in hell do they keep Marcum, Greinke AND Fielder.

Meanwhile... the worm is starting to turn on the Twins, and especially Joe Mauer.

Torii Hunter kept saying that he felt he owed it to his team to play. ``I’m making $18 million, I’ve got to be out there,’’ he said.

About three hours later, a guy making $23 million decided he didn’t need to be out there. Joe Mauer begged out of the lineup with what the Twins described as an upper respiratory infection.

As someone who grew up on Sudafed, let me tell you what an upper respiratory infection is. It’s a cold.

It doesn’t shock me that a professional athlete is soft. It does shock me that someone who is as important to his team and as sensitive to criticism as Mauer is would put himself in position to take this much heat.

If you were Mauer, wouldn’t you play, rather than subject yourself to more bashing?
It is very difficult to mention Mauer’s name to anyone in the Twins’ organization these days without seeing them roll their eyes.

Holy shit. Just a week after he asked to sit because of a stiff neck?
