Can we move back to the 4-3 with a line of Houston-Poe-Dorsey-Hali?

Sorry man, the chaff we have on that line already are sunk costs. We'll have to go CB high this year and safety can be had in the 2nd or 3rd pretty easily. LT had goddamn well better not be an issue...that's all I have to say about that.

The bottom line is that the D-Line is the area where improvement will make the largest differences on this roster. We need some guys that can actually do more than 1 thing well down there unless we want to stick with this antiquated 2-gap bullshit.

God help us if we do.

You want a 1 gap DE?

Alliances and coalitions have remained roughly the same ever since Trent Green got traded away. Once Geno Smith is drafted, none of that shit will exist.

For all I know, I'll join forces with Reerun, Laz, and Blackbob and oppose whatever it is milkman, BossChief, and the Talking Can think is best.

Weeeeeeiiiiiird.

If you're on the same side as Blackbob and Laz, you're on the wrong side.

I don't care if they're opposing Al Qaeda, you've made a poor decision.

This is some Star Wars/science fiction shit.

Massive galactic war ends with one side earning all the spoils.

Becomes too huge and splinters into several antagonistic groups.

Tensions gradually rise over the years until the issue becomes boiled down to two warring factions again.

Rinse and repeat.

This is all fine and good, but we damn well better be hiring someone who doesn't need an "evaluation year." FFS, remember how many scrambled to justify this phrase in '09? Yeah, we remember...

In '13, we need to go QB, and then best CB on the board. We simply cannot get by with Flowers and then nothing. **** you, Scott.

Otherwise how will we be able to take you seriously in 2016 when you're touting Gunner Kiel to replace Chocolate Pain?

Eh, that will never happen.

Reerun and I have been in agreement on Matt Cassel since he first got here, but he's still wrong about everything football-related.

DeezNutz 11-30-2012 02:30 PM

Pestilence is going to force me to put him on ignore.

ROFL

Seriously though....if I had to choose between Nix or Tuitt.....I'd easily take Tuitt to 1 gap in our 3-4.

Hammock Parties 11-30-2012 02:31 PM

The whole reason the Giants won those SBs? Besides Eli?

DL.

Take your CBs and shove them up your ass, DeezNutz.

Alright....I'll stop with the Irish shit.

Dorsey's done - move along.

Hali - Powe - Poe - Draft Pick

Keep Houston off the line; he can probably be a Chris Clemons type, but he'd be better as a standup backer. You really waste his athleticism if you put him on the line.

I've been a fan of the 4-3 my entire football life, so obviously that's what I'd like to see us go back to. That's why I'm a fan of Fewell as a HC coach as well as Gus Bradley who utilizes the Leo hybrid setup. At the same time, there are ways to make the 3-4 work with the personnel we have and if someone like Cowher came along and wanted to go with the 3-4, we can do it and do it well.

But we'll need to clean out most of the lineman we presently have here.
