Do any of you know which starting pitchers are possible FA's this offseason?

Google is a wonderful thing. Looks like the top FA pitcher is going to be C.J. Wilson (Rangers). Mark Buehrle is also a FA. Others listed are:

Chris Carpenter (option), Edwin Jackson, Roy Oswalt (option), Wandy Rodriguez, Adam Wainwright (option).

Ugh.

It's just George's schtick...trust me he is watching & loving this team much more than he probably has in years! Can you imagine this team with some actual starting pitching?

Hochevar seems to have it finally figured out. Paulino definitely has potential. Duffy should keep improving. It's going to be the biggest question for the Royals this offseason....STARTING PITCHING!

What will DM do?:hmmm:

I could live with any of those guys.:thumb:

I'd take a run at Edwin Jackson or Mark Buehrle. I'd be interested in C.J. Wilson but he's going to get a HUGE deal this year.

Not sure what the Cardinals' deal with Wainwright is, but I'd take him in a heartbeat.

There's a link to an article back some pages in here in which DM says they will be agressive in getting at least 1, maybe 2 front line starters... through either trades of prospects or free agency. Hope it turns out true.

Agreed. There's some guys there who could help us immediately. Ftr theyve said they'd like to re-sign Chen for 1 or possibly even 2 more years.

CaliforniaChief 09-05-2011 10:31 PM

I'd take Chen if he came cheap, but I would be disappointed if he was the big "get" of FA this season.

1. Trade prospects for front-line #1/2 starter.
2. Sign Zack Greinke to FA contract in 2013
3. Bring up Bubba Starling to dominate in CF.
4. Win division.

See, after 20 years, "The Plan" is down to a three step process! :)

From what the article said they have bigger fish to hopefully catch besides Chen.... they just appreciate how solid he's been and would like to keep him around. He should be pretty cheap.

Woot... and one more loss/Detroit win to be mathematically eliminated from the post season.

WE CAN STILL DO THIS!
