Whipped, really? Wasn't it a last second FG to win it?
I may be misremembering.

So, basically, all the arguments(except the points allowed) that Reilly just mentioned in his article?

I'm shocked, SHOCKED at Saul_Good's position on this.

I'd rather see OSU play LSU, but I'm not blind. It's been done.

Oklahoma state won't have a better record than Bama nor will they allow less ppg than Bama, so no.

No, LSU Alabama has been done. OSU/LSU hasn't.

Spoiler alert: Oklahoma got worked by LSU and Florida while Oregon got whipped by Auburn.

Oregon got whipped by Auburn? Wasn't that a 7 point game?

O.city 12-03-2011 06:55 PM

Auburn kicked a fg to win by 3 at the end.

Titty Meat 12-03-2011 06:56 PM

I stand corrected it was a 3 pt game.

Whipped was too strong of a word, but Auburn controlled that game and could have punched in a TD at the end. Auburn also had almost 200 more yards rushing IIRC.

Oregon also had a MUCH better defense than OSU has.

FD 12-03-2011 06:58 PM

Didn't that game winning FG come after a fluke play where the RB rolled over a defender and everyone thought he was down and he gained like 40 more yards?

Also Oregon put 449 yards on that SEC defense.

O.city 12-03-2011 06:58 PM

I get the Alabama is the next best team argument, but I also don't think they should get another chance. Hell they lost to LSU at home.

The national champ. game is in New Orleans. What makes anyone think they could beat LSU basically as the home team?

You're right. They got "whipped."

If you can't win your conference you have no business in the NC game. Period.

Absolutes are a great way to determine things.
