I'll disagree with this a little bit. If someone lies later in the forum and then says they never said such a thing and some other proof is needed for their bullshit, at that point I think revealing PMs are perfectly fine.

I mean, if you PM'd me for advice pertaining to a personal matter, or vise versa, then one of us turned around and shared it with the forum, IMO, that qualifies as a bannable offense.

If you're using pm's to be a dick i would recommend not saying shit you don't want to be posted in the open, because it's bound to happen.

Well, it didn't used to be this way, at least not that I can remember.

This forum has definitely changed over the past 4 years and I wouldn't point to this type of behavior as an improvement.

If someone sent me a PM seeking advice or revealing something personal, I would never share that. If some chick wanted to PM me a pic of her tits, I'm not sharing it but if someone sent me their address and wanted me to come over so they could kick my ass, I'd likely post the PM but take out their address. Maybe.

Females on here love to do that sort of thing. Not all of us, but anytime I've ever had anyone do that to me, it's been a female.

The posting of the PM for Hootie was just one in a long line of events/infractions which led to his long-term ban. There are threads on which this has been hashed and rehashed.

Dane, the reason you won't share a PM is because you have character. Naturally, there are circumstances under which a PM can be shared with a mod for threats or other infractions but posting them in a public forum isn't cool. Never has been. Never will be.
