but seriously, I know I'm the minority...

if we really do hire a HC, even if it's ****ing Cowher...and give him final say in personnel and want to keep Pioli around and pay him his exhorbitant amount of money as well..

whatever

don't care

don't give a shit about "toxic" environments...get rid of all the Patriots cronies that patrol the sidelines "coaching" and keep a lame duck GM...whatever

I'll get over it.

I think Brady has allowed him to "think outside the box" and be able to try things because he has an elite QB...

but lets not forget that 5 years ago Mecca and the drafturbator posse told all of us Tony Gonzalez fans that TE was merely a "luxury" position and that signing one to a big contract is stupid and worthless...

yet Belichick redefined that position and made it a MUST HAVE and built an entire offense around two elite tight ends...

he also used a variation of the Urban Meyer spread the year the Pats went ballistic and went 18-1

now he uses a little Chip Kelly offense

saying the dude is only successful because of Brady is ridiculous. Their first Super Bowl Tom Brady was nothing more than a game manager. Yes, the stars aligned and there was spygate, but they won a Super Bowl in which they were 14 point underdogs.

I'm pretty sure Bill Belichick is the best coach I've ever witnessed.

AFTER Brady came into prominince. Do you remember Belichick's days in Cleveland where he would play Vinny Testaverde for a quarter, then Mark Rypien, then Vinny, so on and so on? He was awful as a coach. Cleveland made the playoffs once (maybe twice?) in his time there, and they arguably had a ton of talent to work with.

Brady opened everything up for him. If Bledsoe never gets hurt, would Brady have ever made the field there, given Belichick's willingness to trade good players? We'll never know, but based on his past actions....

Credit to Belichick to morph into a guy that has evolved his coaching over time. But again, it's all due to Brady. IMO

By picking the coach himself he is deciding the fate of the franchise.

Quiet acting like he is doing nothing.

JFC this place thinks a NFL football team should be run like a Fantasy league.

He isn't picking the coach himself. JMHO

Clark is contemplating keeping on his beloved team the main culprit in this debacle of a season.

Yeah, he's really doing alot.

Nope, he's picking the coach that is willing to come work with Pioli.

Good luck with that.

actually Pioli was awful as BB's sidekick, and I'm pretty sure the last 4 years proved him to be a huge fraud/fools gold

you are talking about the guy that drafted Brandon Meriweather, Larwrence Marony and other awful scrubs while he was there.

then he leaves and BB magically drafts two stud TEs, Mallet, Ridley and tons of young defensive studs in Hightower, Jones, McCourty, Spikes, and trades for Talib. Things Pioli would never, ever, do

Yup.

The Patriots personnel machine improved substantially after Pioli left.

Pioli is terrible at everything. He knows absolutely nothing about how to acquire talent. He is a garbage human being and a pox on this franchise.

Clark is gutless **** that won't pull the trigger on an obvious failure. He should go somewhere and fist himself.

There is no capacity whereby Scott Pioli is an asset to this or any other organization.

Hunt was also very close with herm. It means nothing until we see what happens. Based on what we know about hunt, he isn't going to shitcan pioli... If anything, he will be politely shown the door. And he is going to look at that massive buyout and find every which way to make sure it's negotiated down. And based on how thorough he was, wouldn't rule out hunt waiting to get exactly what he wants.

It's fine to speculate, but it's silly to blame him for things that haven't happened yet.

The only good thing I see is this

I will immediately begin the search for the next head coach of the Chiefs.

Maybe I am reading too much into this. To me, that means Pioli is still under the microscope and being evaluated. Hopefully it means SP is out. keep hoping

Yeah I just don't really care. That's just me.

I think we're setting up to land Cowher. Am I super stoked about that? Nah. But whatever. He let Whisenhunt get pretty creative that Super Bowl year with that Randle El reverse pass to Ward. He wasn't a Marty towards the end of his run, and I think Big Ben made him realize you're only going to win in this league with a QB.

Cowher with final say + Geno = whatever, don't care about Pioli

I'd still rather have no Pioli and a Kyle Shanahan with Geno. But I'm not going to be like you and just complain about EVERY SINGLE MOVE every single time.

Because, and you have this right because we've had nothing to cheer for since Vermeil and even those days were letdowns, at the end of they day...I rather have a little optimism and homerism than just pure hatred and negativity.

Hootie 12-31-2012 11:24 AM

I mean, you guys have the ****ing Cardinals for god's sake and even at the end of their "choke job" (after winning a WS and losing Pujols) you were all bitching and moaning about how terrible things were etc etc etc

it was borderline disgusting

Well if he is bull****ing us and letting Pioli in on the decision, essentially doing what Stephen Ross did last year with Ireland, then **** Clark.

Lets see what happens. I think the fanbase has made it clear that keeping Pioli would not be a wise move buy Hunt...
