He'd use the pieces of the track which are similar to the stack of orange pieces on the right side of the pic. Only difference was that the track was green and the pieces were longer, so presumably flimsier.

I don't think he realized that it would be as painful as it was. It was those freaking edges that made them suck ass. My dad always got the belt growing up and I think in his mind, he figured that race track piece was a step down from the belt.

I'd get over it, but what pissed me off was why I would get in trouble... sometimes I could be a little shit...definitely wasn't an angel and had my moments where I was just...wild. However, I hated being punished/grounded for not turning the corner properly while finishing my outside single leg in wrestling practice or (gasp) actually losing a wrestling match....which didn't happen often, but did happen every once in a while.

Crazy wrestling parents are crazy.

Dad and I are cool...I don't think there is anyone in the world that we love more than each other... However, I definitely make it known that I thought that the way he handled those things was bullshit, whenever it gets brought up...which isn't very often.

That's not bad - yeah they aren't real solid - very flexible actually. Dad got the belt - Shit pissed me off.

I like the electric race-tracks. Those were great.

crazycoffey 09-13-2014 12:52 AM

Never had one of those, but a friend did and it was bad ass.

It really just boils down to stupidity, ignorance and laziness. What is the easiest way to discipline a child to someone with a 50 IQ? Hit them.

ChiliConCarnage 09-13-2014 05:42 AM

Yeah, those pics are disgusting. I was switched as a kid but 3 or 4 years old is way too early.

Most of the point of switching is the picking out the switch. You have to try to choose a switch that doesn't look too bad but looks bad enough that they won't go choose the worst one on their own when you come back. This makes you spend more time agonizing over the decision and the thought of what's coming than the physical act itself.

When I was a kid I got the belt, switch, board and my wife got the board, belt, spoon whatever else her bitch of a mother could find. Thankfully we both agree that we will only use open hand butt spanking as a physical punishment and do not agree with using anything else. Exception is made for my son if he gets way out of line and butt spankings dont faise him when he gets bigger.

We try and give timeouts and take toys away but when it isn't working or if it is severe and for their own safety then it is a good old fashioned couple swats on the butt. After we give a spanking we always sit them down and explain why they were in trouble
Example a couple months ago my 3 year old daughter ran away from us in the parking lot and towards the road. I snagged her gave her a butt spanking and then explained why she cant do that. SHe hasn't done it since, when it comes to their own safety then you have to deter them from doing so.

Those pics are pretty damning. I support spanking and have spanked my own several times, but this appears excessive......

Yea, i remember as a kid in the 70s they would paddle in elementary.

Jimmya 09-13-2014 06:39 AM

They still use the board at elementary schools here in Texas. Parents must sign for it to be used on the kids. I've signed every year.
