he was expecting a review so he slowed the snap of the ball and gave WV time to challenge.

He caught it anyway.

Lets have a shoot out, I want to see Smith throwing it all day. ;)

Exactly what I was thinking

Imon Yourside 12-01-2012 02:45 PM

I would like to see him get rid of that.

Nightfyre 12-01-2012 02:46 PM

Get rid of it how?

Imon Yourside 12-01-2012 02:47 PM

I wish KU wouldn't play that soft ass defense...too easy for runs and short passes..No incentive for Geno to throw it intermediate/long

Make a quicker decision.

He's in the pocket completely surrounded by defensive linemen, and you want him to try and throw the ball? Sometimes, rather than risk the strip, it's better just to take the sack.

Possibly, so far it's just too easy for WV they don't even need to throw deep.

actually he did have a guy open in the flat 15 feet away from him

I think RB flared out as a release valve

Smith did panic a little

But can he make that throw without being stripped? I haven't rewatched the play, but he was pretty closed in there.

Imon Yourside 12-01-2012 02:52 PM

I want to believe Smith is the answer, he does need some work though the potential is certainly there.

it wasn't terrible, he had more defender popping up in each place he looked. So it's understandable that he just played it safe and took that sack.

Though in the pros you would hope that he would know that the relief guy was out there and look there first when the heat came.

Geno Smith is still learning ... doesn't change his huge upside.

Imon Yourside 12-01-2012 02:57 PM

Good throw there, C'mon Geno kick our asses!!!!!lolz
