I love those old impala's. Pics?

stevieray 06-02-2019 10:22 AM

ugh... my harmonic balancer has a slight wobble..on a motor with less that 1k miles.

Sorry was off to church and lunch with the fam. No great pics yet. I am going down to blast the frame and start prepping it for paint. I may start on building the rotisserie as well.

This is similar to what I want to end up with. Sort of a pro touring look with enough HP to be stupid when I want to.

I would keep away from air.

Look into QA1, Hotchkis, Ride Tech. Don’t know your budget but those companies make really good suspension

I would tub that Impala to get some more meat on the rear wheels. Those cars, to me, look incredible with some deep dish rims. I assume your Impala is a coupe?

2 door hard top original SS it originally was a 283 powerglide. Currently its a 327 TH350. I am still shopping for a motor but I may go through the 327 balance it and fuel injection. I put the 327 in in high school and may keep it for nostalgia

TrebMaxx 06-02-2019 05:01 PM

For street cruising the 327 done right would make a great power plant. Maybe some mini-tubs with that setup.

I thought you guys would get a laugh out of this:

I have an overseas customer who purchased a '67 stang with a freshly built 347S from some guy. But it's never ran right. His mechanic thought maybe there was something wrong with the engine.

My customer sent us a DM asking if we've ever seen anything like this before: Who ever built the engine left a bunch of shop rags in the lifter valley LMAO

Dafuq. Poor dude, man. That's why you dont smoke weed at work.

Lsx, cheaper, more power and reliability.

Can anyone help decode engine codes. It is a 3970010 with a pad stamp of v1022tkL. T8Z506123

I pulled down what Iwas told was a 327 and when I pulled the pan it is a 4 bolt main which got me looking but I am not able to figure out pad stamp decoding.

I think it is a 78 to 80 350 or 400 165 hp 4 bolt

Just wanted to chime in and talk about my dumb**** moment so that it saves you the same problem down the road.

When changing brake calipers always make sure the bleeders on on top. I managed to install them on the opposite sides of what they should and the brakes were mushy and inconsistent.

Switched them the right way and fixed it up. I am the Bob Sutton of brake mechanics.

Carry on.

You better go back and inspect the brake lines looking like Susie Q fries.
