Even if you get the people inside your own building to stay quiet, you have to hope the player stays quiet - and the biggest improbability - keeping the player's agent quiet.

What incentive is there for an agent to keep a deal secret for two days?

None.

However, there is some incentive for leaking it immediately, because it helps set the market for other players at the same position he might represent. By leaking the signing, the rest of the league sees the "going rate" and the agent can use that to his advantage.
