There were 8 games played on ABC starting at 1330 (CDT) on Saturday or Sunday. In June.

What viewing patterns were disturbed?

You mean besides the ones that you listed, the "specials" covering the days events, etc...? Besides those?

So I am standing back there with this super obnoxious bee hive droning sound driving my up the frickin' wall. So I grabbed the Droid and posted my frustration. Yes I knew there would be some opposing views, but had no idea some where going to COMPLETELY flip out.

I somehow missed that post. My apologies. But the only person flipping out is on the first page, and he stopped.

AHEM I assume the hypocrisy and double standards are self evident with out me having to point them out. THIS SHOULD be the end of this thread (but I'd be willing to bet it isn't).
So, are you calling me a hypocrite and telling me I have double standards?

We visited my inlaws today and my FIL was watching this shit! I mean, normally he only torments me with golf, but now he's watching soccer? ****. Actually made me WISH I was watching golf.

So yes, believe it or not, I actually watched part of that ****ing 1-0 snorefest, at least until it put me to sleep. Ugh. I saw the goal scored after somebody woke me up.

Yay Spain. And thank God it's over.

Silock 07-11-2010 10:28 PM

Yeah, today's game was not very fun to watch, even from a soccer fan's perspective.

Kids aren't the ultimate goal for most people. Bad comparison.

So....arguably the greatest/most famous soccer team in the world could not out draw the 2-14 Chiefs at a once in a lifetime event as opposed to the Chiefs who you get 8 times a year to see. Doesn't bode well for soccer.

The Chiefs had more than 52K at each preseason game as well, so 10x a year.....just sayin'

Take a look at the broadcasts from some of the home Chiefs games this year and tell me with a straight face that 52,000 were there.

Well, I like soccer and wouldn't pay five dollars to see United. Not all soccer fans went to the game.

And if the theory is that soccer can rival football, that's silly. Football is king here, and soccer won't even try. There's a reason MLS plays the schedule they do. Why they're mutually exclusive to people though, I don't know. I love both, obviously.

Soccer is growing exponentially though. It costs about $2 million a game to get United to come. How's much is the KU vs. MU guarantee? Obviously, Wizards didn't get that, but no one lost money here either.
