What if the light bulb goes on for Palko in this game? What if he settles in and everything clicks and he wins the game looking like a starting NFL qb?

Steven Leroy DeBerg was great at one time.

Well, he was next at one time, anyway.

i forgot about Steve Deberg
the ones that stand out as duds to me are:

Steve (oh-no) Bono
Elvis
Thigpen
Huard
Croyle
Cassel
Palko

Chickens and monkeys will emerge in droves from Lenny's buttocks. Dogs will sleep with cats and the Pope will announce that he's gayer than a bag of rainbows.

He did not win 23 games.
As far as I can find, he did not graduate.
He really wasn't even a full three-year starter as he took over the starting role in the sixth week in 2006.

Maybe Parcell's method is antiquated, but it was probably a portion of the criteria Pioli used to assess QBs.

I've already pointed this out, but neither Brady nor Bledsoe met Parcells' definition. It's complete ****ing hypocrisy.

Explain what the problem with this is?

I want a QB in the first. I've said if that can't happen, then yes try to deal for Manning after they take Luck and be great for the next few years.

If your take is...

- I don't want to hear anything outside of taking a QB in the 1st. (Fine. I like that plan also. I admire your determination)

- I don't think it's realistic to get Manning. (I'll agree it's not likely)

Both of which I agree with.

Remove yourself from the situation. Your solution, for the Kansas City Chiefs, is to trade a first round draft pick for an aging, declining HOF QB with grave injury concerns.

Have you learned nothing from history?

Maybe two years after we trade for Manning we can sign Curtis Painter and he'll lead us to a 13-3 season.

Not the route I prefer but the only time in the last 30+ years we have even sniffed a super bowl was with an aging, declining HOF qb with injury concerns

Why do that when we can just sign Flynn to another 60mil contract this off season? Seems far more beneficial than drafting a QB for 4/15.

Given that the QB you reference wasn't Ichabod Crane, I'm not sure how it helps us.

FAX 12-01-2011 06:25 PM

Ichabod was a hell of a quarterback in his day, though. The only serious knock against the guy was his inability to see the entire field. Or any part of the field, really. Since he had a punkin for a head and all.

Manning is past the "aging" stage.

He will be 36 in march and has a broken neck.

If we give our first rounder for that, we damn well better be making a move quickly to draft his replacement.

DeezNutz 12-01-2011 07:39 PM

If we trade a first rounder for an old, seriously injured QB, the Chiefs and I will be on a break.

We will be on a break for good. I'll be pretty much done.

stonedstooge 12-01-2011 07:43 PM

Manning was being checked today. Haven't heard anything about him being cleared to play

love the announcer: "Maybe it's a wet football, maybe he was just trying to hurry the play...."

Maybe he sucks?
