Only makes sense to retain Romeo if either the OC or DC to be hired is going to be groomed into the HC to be.

We're grooming coordinators now?

Wait! We are getting new media members too?

If they don't make a move for a QB in the draft I doubt that'll be Romeo's fault.

The point is that Romeo has already stepped up and made comments that show he's not sold on or happy with Cassel. That's exactly what most of us have been hoping for, so how could that possibly be a strike against Romeo?

I was being facetious with the "strike" comment. Of course Orton is better than Cassel, so if we're forced to pick between these two, I'm happy RAC is making the obvious decision.

However, better than bad does not equal good, and this classic CP line definitely is apt in comparing Orton and Cassel.

We need a new ****ing QB. Badly.

ROMEO CRENNEL TRADED UP FOR A FIRST ROUND QB IN CLEVELAND!!!!!

Nobody wants to talk about this?

This sure as **** gives me hope. If we get Luck or RGIII, I don't give a shit who our coach is.

Well he has the chance to draft a QB and build a championship team. So the clock has started. Lets see if he ca start off on the right foot.

Also coaches have been coming here to die for some time now. Lets see if crennel can change that.

We have no shot at drafting a good QB this year. It ain't gonna happen. Just accept that.

Because Romeo has the power to trade up in the draft...

No, it's not what I'm saying. I'm saying if you think any HC is going to be the one that gets a QB, then that man either has to have complete control over the roster or a GM that will listen to others.

We have neither.

I'm sure that Pioli will/would listen to Romeo. But, in the end, Pioli will convince Romeo to agree with him that Cassel deserves one more year and Kellen Moore or Case Keenum is going to be the next Brady like steal.

If Hunt really wanted to sell tickets he would do whatever it takes to trade up.

Why don't everyone of you season ticket holders cancel and put Matt Cassel as the reason?

NJChiefsFan 01-07-2012 11:16 PM

Does this even matter? Without a real QB it doesn't matter who the coach is. Romeo may actually push Cassel out, although I am not holding my breath. Even then we have Orton. I would easily take Orton/Stanzi over Cassel but if thats our other choice we are going to piss away a pretty good, young roster. Oh, and a roster we had to suffer through years of suck to get.

Cool beans.

Of course, there has been no official announcement of anything yet.

unfortunately, the few who do won't make a dent.

Trading up to the 20's or whatever it was to get a QB in Quinn who was free falling is quite different than trading up to the first or second pick in the draft to get those guys you mention. Now if for some inexplicable reason RG3 starts getting passed up by teams, then yeah. But I don't see that happening.

Want a first round QB? We're going to have to wait until a year when there are a ton of them available to draft like there were in that year that River, Big Ben, Manning, etc came out, and go target one, or we're going to have to hope to get lucky and have a talent like Aaron Rodgers fall into our laps because everyone else passed on him. I don't see this team being a top 5 drafting team anytime soon...

To think he doesn't influence the decision would be equally silly.

Supply and demand.
