So I started playing online earlier this week. I lost my first 2 games but have won my last 4. Its great to see all the different strategies people use and I feel like its making me a beast.

I lost my first game big to a guy using the Niners. I was running pretty well on them but he used man coverage 100% of the time and completely blanketed my receivers. Cassel threw 5 INTs that game. I lost my second against a guy using the Pats while I used the Ravens. It was close but he ended up winning because I just couldnt get it in the endzone when I needed to; probably because I just need practice with Baltimore.

The games I won ended up being close scores (within 14 points) but never really felt that close. One guy used the Lions and returned two kicks for TDs. I ended up having to squib it every time and just concede the yardage. His offense was pretty good but his defense was astoundingly terrible. He'd always user control the MLB and completely overrun every play. I scored like 45 points on him and he ended up with 35. I had issues with another guy returning kicks that used the Redskins. I squibbed him all game as well and forced RGIII to throw 5 INTs to get the easy W.

I feel like my superior knowledge of x's and o's allows me to beat a lot of these scrubs. I use my entire offensive Playbook and don't usually reuse the same plays. My go-to's tend to be crossing routes and JC coming out of the backfield but if the guy catches on I can easily adjust or mix up other plays to keep them on their toes. Once I get the lead its pretty much over. I just sub out JC for Hillis to keep them fresh and pound the game away.

Today I made my first person quit. He was using the Raiders LMAO He didn't run the ball a single damn time. I stayed in the 1-4-6 man coverage, safety's deep zone and LB pass rush for like 85% of the game because of that. The guy went for it on 4th down deep in his own territory twice and only had like 4 go-to plays. What a bum.

So I'm liking Madden, but suddenly this week there are changes to the connected careers player mode. exp points for practice have gone up by 1000, and now you can switch your player to be a starter, no matter what their rating is. That'd be fine except there's a glitch and it automatically switches to starter, no matter how many times you turn it off. This bugs me because, call me crazy, but part of the fun for me is having my player rise up the depth chart. Now he's just the starter, even as an undrafted rookie. I want that feature gone.

I'm actually loving the new Madden.

Am i the only one who changes the Chiefs Uni to Red on Red? I wish they would do this on some Sundays.

crossing routes won't beat man this year. Go to comeback routes vs man, wr drags with a TE or slot streak to hit vs zone in the seam. I think im around 65-15 online with KC, should be closing in around top 200.

Here's a thread I started on a madden site about KC's book. Theres a video (not mine) with a good scheme.

Exactly. It's the fault of the NFL. 2K can't compete with EA Sports when it comes to a bidding war.

yes and the NFL and EA both knew this. Who is to say they weren't working together to make this happen?

I don't understand how a consumer could argue this. This monopoly deal they worked is bad for the consumer. Which is why monopolies are supposed to be illegal.

I do think it's bad for the consumer. I would love 2K and other companies to be able to make NFL football games. It would make Madden better for one thing.

I love to play around with the unis. wish I could get purple w/ white stripe pants for the Ravens. For chiefs, I go all whites. I'd like to get white leg sleeves over red pants like Flowers wore yesterday. I guess I'll have to play around in player edit. (x52)

You moron, the NFL has a monopoly on professional football, that's why they were given a ****ing anti-trust exemption from the government. Do you know what that is?

THEY are the one abusing ANTI TRUST exemption they were given by the gov't and have been doing it for years. They do it with NFL sunday ticket and they do it with the NFL network. They also did it with their video game license.

Direct your anger properly moron or the NFL will just keep doing this shit. EA can't get exclusive rights to their games unless it's available to them. Blame the disease, not the symptom.

I'm not arguing it's good, I'm arguing that what EA did was what any business would do in that situation. It's ridiculous and idiotically naive to believe otherwise.

Personally I have a long list of other reasons I hate EA as a game company.

Do not like this accurate passing shit.

can someone tell me how to get linebackers and safeties to line up over their assigned man? I play the 360 version if that makes a difference.

I just get frustrated with blitzing because if a safety has to cover a running back, he stays deep and there is no way he can make up the distance once the play starts. the same goes for linebackers trying to man cover tight ends, split ends and slot receivers.

You don't want LB's covering split ends or slot receivers.. but to answer your question, use man align. Coverage Audible then D-pad to the right i think.

You can manually bring to safeties down a bit to close the gap on the RB.

Yeah that man align option doesn't ever work for me. It takes defenders even farther away from their man sometimes.
