And that's the bottom line.

If you think Clark is lying, or is completely inept, or is too distant and has no idea what is going on, how can you bring yourself to still do this?

If any of the above are true, THERE IS NO HOPE and therefore no reason to continue.

That is a pretty dense take on this; Pioli is there for the new HC's disposal. If the new HC wants him for whatever reason, then fine. If they don't, then Pioli is shown the door.

Clark would be foolish to hire a HC and not have a GM available to them if they need one (read: Chip Kelly).

What is clear is that the new HC will be calling the shots now and not Pioli. If the new HC needs someone to pick up gum wrappers, guess what? Pioli has his duties as GM redefined for him.

Clark handled this perfectly from an owners point of view.

Source in K.C. says Scott Pioli is determined to prove he can weather the storm and thinks he will remain GM when all said, done. #chiefs

Yup.

The Patriots personnel machine improved substantially after Pioli left.

Pioli is terrible at everything. He knows absolutely nothing about how to acquire talent. He is a garbage human being and a pox on this franchise.

Clark is gutless **** that won't pull the trigger on an obvious failure. He should go somewhere and fist himself.

There is no capacity whereby Scott Pioli is an asset to this or any other organization.

This.

More evidence why it's a huge mistake not to nuke this thing from the start; Pioli is too Machiavellian to take this quietly.

He was awful as a coach. Cleveland made the playoffs once (maybe twice?) in his time there, and they arguably had a ton of talent to work with.

Brady opened everything up for him. If Bledsoe never gets hurt, would Brady have ever made the field there, given Belichick's willingness to trade good players? We'll never know, but based on his past actions....

Credit to Belichick to morph into a guy that has evolved his coaching over time. But again, it's all due to Brady. IMO

No it isn't. Let's not be ridiculous. The browns were improving immensely then fell apart when modell sold out the team in bellichicks final year. And he has adapted his scheme from Erhardt Perkins to a spread concept to accommodate Brady, is the only parcells disciple to get rid of two gap and change to a 4-3, and he is by far the most involved and successful as any head coach probably in history at influencing personnel and football operations.

Bellichick isn't overrated. What's overrated is when his staff tries to implement his model elsewhere.

I think I might find a million dollars in cash under my house, does not make it true though...

They did keep Brady as a 4th QB his rookie year. They saw something in him.

but yeah...I don't necessarily disagree

I guess if I'm going to use my "Peyton Manning is worth 12 wins by himself" argument when I bash Dungy I could do the same thing with Brady...

but THEN AGAIN...Bellichick did win 11 games with Matt Cassel...

This defies logic.

Scott Pioli destroyed this franchise.

As an owner, I wouldn't want someone as the new HC that would want anything to do with Pioli.

There is literally two reasons why Pioli wasn't fired this morning along with Tannenbaum - who BTW, accomplished a metric ****ton in NY.

And he is going to look at that massive buyout and find every which way to make sure it's negotiated down. And based on how thorough he was, wouldn't rule out hunt waiting to get exactly what he wants.

It's fine to speculate, but it's silly to blame him for things that haven't happened yet.

That could be what is going on. Hunt may restructure the GM's job in a way that Pioli wont tolerate, Pioli says "hell with that, I want out" and Hunt says "well, I'm not firing you, so lets talk about that buyout".

lol how did that Browns team fall apart, they moved to Baltimore had 2 good drafts and were in the Super Bowl and have been competitive ever since lol

He can stay as GM as long as he is removed from all player-personel decisions.

ShowtimeSBMVP 12-31-2012 11:28 AM

Does anyone know if the whole staff was let go?
