Seattle went from looking like a full rebuild to a team that maybe can hover around .500… where they have been stuck in recent years.

Strange strategy.

Strange strategy.

They got draft picks and replaced them with FA bridge guys. I think they're looking to change the culture without bottoming out.

Milton Williams and Josh Sweat have excellent value as 3rd/4th rd picks and will give that same value back with a 3rd and 4th rd comp pick. They found an elite LT in the 7th rd.

They’re projected to have 17 picks in the first 5 rds the next 2 years and 20 overall. Might get another 4th rd comp pick for Becton if he gets paid.

Also found Baun and Becton cheap and they became excellent.

I love Veach. He’s a top 3 GM in my eyes. But Howie Roseman is the best right now.

The way he structures contracts, and his owner's willingness to let him mortgage their future, allows him to sign all of those guys. Yes, he's an excellent talent evaluator. He also is allowed to spend 3x what the average NFL team spends. Just stop.

Got to say, I think he's right. Roseman is the stand-out.

That said, I think a more useful way to think about it is probably to ask how, say, Veach and Roseman would do if they switched positions. Entirely possible, as great as Roseman is, he wouldn't have been so enamoured with Mahomes, and so wouldn't have gone to bat for him as much.

But Roseman winning 2 SBs with Wentz/Foles and Hurts, is very impressive. I think Run is right - getting those picks for Wentz, and their subsequent drafts, have been the catalyst for their success.

Was basically our Tyreek deal that helped keep the defense young. Who we trading next? McDuffie (please no), Furious George? Don’t have many guys worth that kinda trade value.

Justin Reid was apparently very close to signing with the Eagles, but the Eagles had a lack of cap space

Eagles having a lack of cap space to sign someone... that's new.

Mekhi Becton heads to the Chargers for 2 years.

Becton at $10 million/season vs. Smith at $23 million/season?

I know which path I'd have preferred...

Good thing Smith is 230% of the player that Becton is.

Right?

Right?

Yep, me too, bummer they've got him for that little. Although his durability prior to last year was also pretty consistent with the Chargers.

IR?

He's gone to the Chargers.

I'd take 50/50 odds that he ends up in the ****ing morgue by December.

But we've done a pretty nice job of managing the health of our OL here - I really think he'd have been a nice fit.

RunKC 03-17-2025 02:35 PM

If you’re wondering why Omenihu is still sitting, feel free to look in the draft forum. This just might be the best DL class Spags has ever seen.

Jordan Burch, Jared Ivey, Elijah Roberts, Sai’vion Jones

Some really talented guys that play that role and they will be there in rd 3 or later. The talent in this class is really bad news for Charles
