That airfare and hotel money could have been used to sign a pitcher this offseason. Or someone who has played baseball in the last 10 years. :shake:

Still a significant swing but not 32 like you implied. I think it's closer to 90% rather than 80%, so it's a little more accurate at an 8.5 Win variance - 4.25 swing in either direction. Now it's looking much more accurate.

This^^^ is a very good summation. The long term +/- (deviation) on WAR is in fact 4 wins either way. (PyThag/run differential is pretty close too)

Good points. Would agree that 90 percent is the right mark for most teams. Outliers fall more into the 80 percent mark.

The Royals have been one of those since 2013. Believe they're around 30 wins better than Pythag/base runs/etc in that range. Would be interesting to look at war and see what that looks like.

1 run in two games is pretty good

I don't know who that fat guy is that does ESPN baseball, but he is really good. Really funny but not overboard.

Another 9 game winning streak should do the trick.

I'm perfectly fine w/ winning 9 out of every 10 games that are played from here on out. Should work out in our favor.

Tonight is not a must win in Miami, but lets go ahead and win it just in case...........

ChiTown 08-25-2016 02:47 PM

Oh, and Colon is batting 2nd again while Cheslor rides the pine. It's not like we are up against the ropes for a playoff spot or anything...................WTF!:cuss:

It's all that power in Colon's bat that entices Ned - 0 MLB Career HR's.

I love Edgar, but sometimes...................JFC
